Does having the A/C on while driving waste gas?

i don't know, but i do know that it kills the acceleration in some cars. I took Nature Boy's pink cadillac out for a spin....ok....i stole it cuz he was forcing me to go to another "leather man" party and i feared for my orifices. well anyway, as Nature chased after me with his friends Big Willy and Leather Larry, i noticed i could hardly outrun their morbidly obese asses when i realized the AC was on. once i turned it off, i high taled it out of the city. That's the last time i ever believe you Nature Boy when you tell me, "no, Freak, we're going to this supermodel party with all these chics from Maxim. yeah, sure, whatever.

Here's a tip: If you are driving on the freeway, its better to leave your windows closed and run the air conditioner. But if your driving in stop and go traffic leave the windows open and the air conditioner off.

The AC unit is an accessory that uses additional fuel and takes away from the power to the engine in a car. It creates heat by making the engine work harder so if you aren't moving a whole lot and the air isn't circulating to cool the radiator, you can put a strain in some older cars. Newer cars are designed much more efficiently and actually, some are built with two radiators like the entire Nissan line-up.

I have a older car, 94 Nissan Sentra and my I think my AC has been making my engine act screwy on really humid days. It even stalls. I'm trying to figure if it's the for sure ac and if it is what the hell is going on?

here in the heat and humidity core of the south, a/c is mandatory if u don't want to get somewhere sopping wet. the a/c works fine in my car, a cop copy mercury, does not overheat it or tax the engine.
