does anyone know why they do limited release on films?

ie. children of men.. a scanner darkly.. just dont understand why have such a huge budget and then limit the release to only certain cities..

maybe there were more but the blockbuster manager knew you had a naked ass pic for an avatar and hid them.

based on the popularity of the initial release, they will determine how many screens to put it on.

a big budget movie could be on 1000 screens or 4000 depending on the intial review, reaction, and demand.
