Does anyone here have Direct TV?

Fast Twitch Fiber

Do you like it? Is the reception good?

My cable company sucks. They aren't offering NBA League Pass this year. Of course they've never offered the NFL package. I'm about to switch to satellite.

You can`t compare the 2 unless you have the digital cable.

Sat signal is great. I tried cable along with my Sat and UNsubscribed in 2 weeks due to poor picture from the cable.

The only drawback is you need a reciever for each TV for Sat as opposed to cable splitters everywhere for cable.

I have digital cable now. Needing multiple receivers isn't really an issue for me. The biggest problem is that I rent an apartment. I'm wondering if a dish can be installed without drilling too many holes in the building.

i have directtv and it's alright. my wife's parents have dish network and i seem to like their setup a bit better

just got it 2 days ago

i think we have like 700 channels...
its illegal so i dunno what everyone else has, but we get all the PPV channels, like 10 porn channels, tons of HBO and movie ones... any sports game, we get it... its nuts

Directv much better than my cable system. But Directv sucks because they keep send down ECM's and blacklisted bin's it's become such a problem for me. "did I say that out loud?"

lol at testing.

gotta love it. I wish I could still have that. I had two H cards before Black Sunday for ONE MONTH for $900 then bammo.. dead

HU cards available for $200, loader w/ support (scripts you can DL and program onto card yourself) $119.99

Well worth it!!!

I have had direct tv for years. Have cable as well, (for internet mainly). Just canceled direct tv, because the p4 cards can't get programed yet. Still have many p3 cards but they are getting tough to program. My work pays for my cable, and there isn't any filters on the telephone pole any longer. So thats good enough! If I had to pay for one thing, it would be satellite though. I know dish network has a cheaper tivo now, so I'd likely use that. I was real happy with direct tv though.

How long do they last? a week, month 2-3 months? before they get zapped.

Just wondering.

Sometimes it's a few days....the latest scripts have been a week. But the beauty of support is that they have a fix available within a coulple of hours of a hit...you just log onto their website and download the new script. Plug your card into your loader, apply the new script, and you're up and running! No more taking your card to a 'guy' and being without TV for a day or two.

The signal on my HDTV looked like shit with Direct Tv. The smaller, analog televisions looked just fine though.

The tv guy & the Directtv guy both said this happens and there is nothing that can be done about it. (digital signal of a hdtv bigscreen).

I cancelled after a month. I still have all the equipment. I've thought about hooking it up illegally, but they recently put some guy in jail for a few years for it.:(
