Does anyone here go to cemetaries?

Why?

I do. My father's. It helps me deal with his unexpected death.

The other day I was visiting with my brothers and sister and they were watching old VCR tapes of their kids that are grown up now. My father was on a lot of them and it was so comforting to hear his voice again.

Once in a while, just to reflect, and jog memories of happier times.
sometimes it digs in to me thats when the hurt starts .

I would give anything for a video of my mom. She died 25 years ago when I was 5. All I have is a few pics of her!! It's sad!!

I often think of visiting my grandparents' grave but rarely manage to do it when I'm back home. My parents were cremated and we had their ashes scattered but I've never been to the site.

In general, I like visiting cemetaries. There's usually a feeling of peace there. There's a huge one in Paris that is worth seeing, it has some very attractive graves.

What was really freaky is after hurricane Rita passed here, I passed by a graveyard and there were like 10 caskets laying in the middle of the street. It was caused from the flooding. I could have gone forever without seeing that!!

Did you check for jewelry on the bodies?

My husband and I like to go and wander around old graveyards, it's a peaceful and interesting way to spend an afternoon. I visit my father's grave occasionally. My mother and husbands parents died without leaving any instructions, they were all cremated and we keep the urns here in the house.

I usually go to the cemetary on Father's day to go to my dad's grave. When I'm there I'll stop at my older sister's and some of my grandparents' graves too. My mom goes a few times a year to put out/take down the flower pots etc.

I can't go to my dad's grave...yet. I'll meet my sister in Dalton, Ohio at a little graveyard where our grandparents are buried. I'ts cool, there are people buried there who fought in the Civil War, The war of 1812, and the Revolutionary War (amoung others). Freaks me out to think there are the remains of people there who were living there lives at the same time as our forefathers. And they made it back or they would be buried on a battlefield somewhere.

I visit my Pop-pops grave when I go back to my home town. My Mom ashes sit at my house so I never have to leave the comfort of my home to pay my respects.

Haven't been to my Dads grave but one time since he was burried.

I only went that one time because I was with my Mom and she was
stopping by to put down fresh artificial flowers.

I have no desire to.
I want to be creamated as I think cemeteries are a Huge waste of land, forever...

My memories are in my head and I don't need a grave to remember them.

I cant go regularly, cause my grandparents graves are across the ocean. But every time I visit my country, I go there, take the food and drinks they liked the most, eat there and leave some at the grave; I wash the marble and put some flowers for them too.

:) thanks. I dont like getting reminded about them, cause one died when I was 14 and the other 3 when I was in the States, so I didnt get to see them or tell them how much I love them before they left. Its just too sad

No, I like to get my sex elsewhere.

That's right, bitch. There's the line of decency and I just jumped over it.

:lmao:

I needed to lighten the mood.

I rarely go to my fathers grave I find it to hard. Even thinking about just now gets me tearing up. It is coming up on the 10 year anniversiry of his death.

HumourMe you gave me an idea I think we have some video of him at home I would love to see it going to check when I am at my moms this weekend.
