Does anyone feel the /need/ to retire young?

I think about it how cool it would be, but sheesh even after a long weekend sometimes i look forward to going back to work. I think i'll always have some desire to work, just part time though once i hit 55. Maybe a golf course ranger, that would be perfect.

I was forcibly retired, ie laid off, a few months ago...... I've arranged things so I don't have to go back to work unless I want to.....

Hell yes and hell no. I had 5 and 1/2 months off and it wasn't nearly enough. I was entertained the whole time. Working is for suckers.

Don't envy me. You could envy me if I weren't working, but since I am, I hate life. Probably will never be able to retire until I'm a real old fart.
