Does anyone else worry about their parents' health

Both my parents are in their 60's now. My father has high BP... my mother is constantly nagging him about diet and exercize. It raises my BP listening to her. I can only imagine what it does to my father. He is on medication and it is getting worse.
My mother is having eye trouble. She is seeing strobe like flashes of light during the day. She is out there anyway. She could have a stroke and nobody would notice a difference in behavior.
I work with my father. I tend to forget he will be 70 in 5 years!

I worry about my dad all the time,he eats like shit, doesnt exercise and smokes, and heart problems run in our family so he needs to be fucking taking care of himself, but he doesnt,I even pay for his gym membership but he doesnt use it

I do. :(

My parents aren't that old - my mom is 46 and my dad is 47.

:worried: My husband will be 45 in October.... Actually he has borderline high cholesterol which I'm worried about, especially after his blood clot 4 years ago....I'm worried about a reoccurance of that....

But, yes, it's disturbing when your parents' health declines -- I lost both my parents before I was 30 and it's very hard.....

What caused his blood clot?

It appeared to be a "physical anomoly." His leg vein was clotted from the foot up to the iliac. The ven in the iliac area was thin in a spot, so it appears that is the reason for the clot. He slipped & fell on wet tile during our honeymoon & the clot appeared after that. So I guess it was a combination of things. They put a stent in to keep the vein open.

My dad's 81 and every time the phone rings my heart stops a beat. He's had at least three forms of cancer -- prostate cancer, skin cancer, and leukemia. The prostate responded well to a "roto rooter" surgery, the skin cancer spots get removed, but the CLL leukemia has run him through the ringer.

Last year he had a squamous cell carcinoma on his scalp that got so big that they had to remove a big section of scalp all the way to the bone. I don't know where they took the skin graft from, probably his butt or his leg, but it's a big ugly yarmulke-shaped bald spot now. He had to have ratiation treatments on his head after that too.

He's on chemotherapy for the leukemia again too.

The rest of him is pretty robust though.

I'm sorry to hear that :(

I think my dad may have borderline high cholesterol as well but I'm not sure. He's been taking better care of himself as of late though, eating healthier, etc. I'm still worried about his health though, and about my mom's as well - she gets her biopsy results back in up to 2 weeks. 2 weeks is a long time to be wondering.

The waiting is agony..... Hope all turns out to be OK :rose:
