does anyone else on here ride motorcycles

XR600 and a CBR600. Looking at parts to build a Harley type chopper rigid when I turn 40(3.5 yrs). As for mods on yours, jet kit, pipe, air filter are easy, after that you go inside the engine and rack up the big bills for parts and labor.

i already chromed the wheels now i wnna chrome the frame some one told me it coulnt be dome because the chrome wouldnt stick is this guy full of shit.?

He is full of shit only because you need to polish your frame. I have seen a profesionaly polished frame that looked as good as chrome. It was nice. Chroming your frame would add a lot of weight.

my bike-02' RC51. With full race pipes :D

Sounds like your going for show and not speed, correct?

i bought it with the engine balance and blueprinted then he had the cams installed for me its fast enough i can hang with r1 all day and suzuki 1000 since i got over 3000.00 dollars in tickets for my suped up civic im gonna chill with the speed for a while shit i still have 3 court cases in my town then i have to go to new york court too for racing in hunts point to make a long story short they confiscated my car on the spot and left me to walk in the middle of the bronx at 2 am.. i sold the car in august and im still paying

Thats not a good story. :o

Spending money on youself only so you can drive or stay out of jail really sucks. The bike sounds nice. Have you thought about having it polished? I am not sure about chrome not "sticking" to aluminum but I imagine that its false. There is a whole process to chroming, its not as if they just dip it in and thats it. I would call a few places.

As for hanging with R1's and Gsxr 1000's They must be shitty riders or you guys are on one of the most twisty roads there is. I believe that you can out ride an R1 but equal racers on streets the R1 and GSXR1000 win.

I was going to get some carbon fiber wheels until I was quoted $2500.00 per wheel. ouch.

frorider- my brother-in-law has one of those. They are more comfortable than most sportbikes. Plenty fast as well.

just wondering, i have a yamaha r6 team blue need opiniond in up coming modifications

Hell yeah! Check out my avatar, I ride a 2000 R1.

How long have you had the R6 for? How much experience riding do you have? Most people can't even begin to use most of the power of a R6, so it doesn't make sense to upgrade. The most basic one is a new pipe of course. I'd go for a full system, Akrapovic titanium pipe. Will cost you a bit, but you get better sound and more rwhp. Then you can do the small things like steel braided brake lines, thinner chain, steering damper, new front forks.

My friend chromed the frame on his 98 R1. Unless the R6's frame is of different material (I doubt it), it should be possible. He did it himself.

Beautiful bike ... Next to the Ducati 996, it's got the best sound ever. Sure it won't hang with my R1, but hey

I roadraced the 2000 season on a CBR900RR. Racing is where it's at. I'm never going back to street riding. I'll probably get a new 600 for next season. Fucking expensive but worth every single dime. Dragging your knee on the pavement while taking someone on the inside is the best rush!

I'm not that crazy about polished frames because I'm lazy. Once you polish wheels, frames, swingarms you have to keep them clean. If you let dirt and crap collect for too long it will pit.
I have an all black bike and it gets dirty just thinking about going for a ride. As far as any more performance mods..I would get to a track school. Its sounds like you have had it tuned and cammed the only other thing would be to have it bored. I think any benefits you get would be minimal for the money spent. Once you push the capacity of small engine longevity and reliablity comes into play. I bought my current bike with the head ported and polished(motor could be bored also, have not tore it down to check) and have had problems with jetting and electrical. I spent my track school money on fixing problems that shouldn't have been there.:(

not being a dick, but i dont see any R6 hanging with the gsxr1000, especially as far as power, and if the person can ride a lick it will kill you on the street also. I have a gsxr750, wanting a 1000. but your r6 is definitely one of the prettiest bikes i have ever seen.

Any asshole can twist a throtle. We're all fast on the straights. On a moderately twisty road (not even that tight) a good rider on a 600 will make a mediocre rider on a 180hp superbike look like a fool. Trust me.

thanks for the replts guys
and for those who said my bike cant keep up well thats hogwash i have ridden with the best of the best when we go riding far on highways and whatnot everyone eventually pitstops at a gas station im right behind the 1200s and the zx-9s...(two bad the cat with the gsxr-750 never cught up to us because we had a blast the whole night) most of em are very impressed with my bikes perfomance since my bike has no dcals its assumed an r1 and im not even questioned (some dont evn know mine is an r-6 if they knew they would prolly cry)

my top speed was 158 i weighed 263 at the time ive dropped about 60 pounds since i storred the bike.

If you're out doing that shit on highways, then you're not maxing out the bike. Even if you are riding like an idiot Squid, you still have to slow down for cars, etc. Of course you'll be able to at least keep up, you keep hitting a "pace car".

It sounds like you have more balls than brains anyway. (That's not a complement).

I'm an aggressive rider, but I don't go zipping down the highway at 120 in a wolf pack scaring the shit out of cars. I might be totally off base here, but you sound like the type of rider that gives the rest of us a bad name.

Take it to the track.

I do carve the canyons and zip down some back roads. But I can tell you, drivers hate when a bike rips past them from nowhere. It scares the hell out of most of them. And the highway is no place to prove your bike can hang with faster ones. You'll kill yourself (which drives up MY insurance) or you'll kill someone else.

All I'm saying is this. Use some common sense.

I'mma Harley Princess...........I was just thinkin', winter has just started and I can't wait for spring so I can ride on the back of my man's Vibrating Road Muscle!!!!
