does anyone else have this problem with private messenging?

i told it to notify me when i get a new message. except when i get one i read it, close it all down, then it tyells me i have a new message, nd when i go back to the menu its the SAME message, and when i close it down again, it happens again!. im obviously doing somthing wrong, anyone know what?

It never did that to me, but whenever I post a thread it says board not specified or some shit like that.
