Hey guys just seen this infomercial about the bowflex machine. Looks bloody good but they are obviously trying to sell them, fucking expensive too. just wondered if anybody has one and if they are any good?

Cant make it to the gym with work and uni taking up my whole day so i need a good home gym and free weight machines are to big for my house.

Bowflex could be a goer if i get good resposes. If ya dont know wot im on about google it.

don't waste your money on that shit... buy a bench, power rack, a bar and some plates!

Jesus, another one of these threads? I think it's time for a "No, regardless of what some commercial or PT at your gym told you, Bowflexes/Smith Machines are not a replacement for free weights" sticky.

Oh, well in that case, go ahead and get a Bowflex. In fact, save a bit of money and get a comfortable couch instead, since with enough gear you can sit around, neglect lifting altogether and still get jacked.

If this were true I'd be jacked

Youd be better off doing pushups, pullups, and bodyweight squats, just get a membership to a real gym.

i wouldnt use it if it was free
^^^ That says it all, seriously, awful things, unnatural movements.

What kind of space do you have? A small bench, a set of power blocks (the original PowerBloc, though, I was told by a guy who works in a sporting goods store that the BowFlex adjustable dumbbells break too easily) covers a lot of exercises, and a doorway chinning bar takes up virtually no space.

waitaminit... that bowflex thingy looks like an expensive gadget filled couch... that's what i always thought

mmm piece of shit by the sounds, no worries. Karma to the guys that gave good responces, fuck all to u other dudes.

Power racks are nice, but if you're not very afraid of a bar falling wood can support a lot of weight. 4x4's stacked with steel joining them will hold a lot of weight. Forget a bowflex. picking up heavy rocks and throwing them is better for you than that.
