Well you are right and wrong

You are right that most MD's do not know much about AS the way we think of them. They know alot about AS, but only from a certain perspective usually. But there are many exceptions. A friend of mine is an MD and he use to compete and has done numerous cycles of just about everything you can think of. My MD is a female and competed in Ms. Olympia about 20 years ago.

However they know a hell of alot more then us in one respect - evaluating our hormonal levels. Most of us are flying blind - asking advice and getting no more than a a good guess.

But all of that is changing. Now Endoscreen is available to everyone - you can get your testo, estrogen, progesterone, DHEA, Androstenedione and even DHT tested without having to visit a doctor. You can see if your anti-estrogens are working, or if you are taking enough. you can see if the proscar, propecia or saw palmetto is working. Heck you can even find out if your gear is real or bunk.

I know E2 and a few of the others (like Ulter) know where you can get lab evaluations by Endoscreen done. I use to babysit E2 as a kid. he was a strong little f***, but rowdy as hell. Use to have to bitch slap him all the time. I ran into him the other day. He said remember me? It brought tears to my eyes - the son of a bitch bitch slapped me - and he is a lot bigger now. Luckily I was carrying my 9 mm, shot the Canuck SOB in the leg.

the fact here is that most non-juicers assume that with steroid use comes steroid abuse. most people assume you dont go five minutes without a needle in you and that your body is always ready to explode. this isnt the case. people are well aware of the necessary off periods, and precautionary measures (clomid, nolvadex, milk thistle...) that go along with steroid use. most people just think we're big dumb jocks who dont know any better, but fail to realize that we probably know more about chemistry, biology, physiology, anatomy, and pharmaceuticals than most.

JonbMD -- dude you are making me laugh. MD's get tons of incentives for prescribing certain drugs in terms of paid cruises and cash incentives. I saw a enticement from a PPO offering MD's between $2,000-20,000 PER PATIENT for prescribing experimental drugs. I had gotten the mailing by mistake.

I can't believe you as an MD would fail to see the trillions of $ that flow through the pharmaceutical companies the government and your profession.My post wasn't an attack on the whole medical profession it was just a different topic of discussion. I apologize if I've offended any shady doctors out there.

my doc has me on 400 mls of cypionate per 10 days. i am adding another 500 of enanthate and 7 naposims/day. She doesn't know about my additives. I will see her again tommororw for injection and am going to ask for nolvadex or something to help puffy nips. i have to play stupid as to not raise her suspisions, although she knows i have a history of use. - brook

Yes, I, PERSONALLY, think docs should be more informed on AS. HOWEVER, a doctor's main responsibility is to help treat disease. Last time I checked, bodybuilding wasn't a disease.

Wow, that must be the 1mg/ml strength stuff...almost a liter to inject every ten days, it must leave you with a goiter at the injection site.

Anyways, you guys shouldn't be flaming an MD who visits this board, you should be checking to see if he participates in your HMO/PPO plan.
