I recently went to the doctor, because I have been experiencing a lot of anxiety. I am the COO and acting CFO of a telecommunications company. We are struggling to stay in business so I have had a lot of stress and had to lay off a lot of people. I have also been experiencing major fatigue. He put me on effexor ( I think that is how it is spelled), but then did blood work to see if it was my thyroid or something else. I went in for the follow up yesterday. He walked in and said we have to have a frank talk. He was extremely serious and sullen. I thout he was going to tell me I had cancer or something. Instead, He said "How much TEST are you doing a week." I just smiled and asked why. He informed me that my test levels were 2850. He then told me that was almost four times the high level, and that I was going to destroy my liver, put myself at risk for testicular or prostate cancer, and then asked how many times I have raged. I have never raged!!!!
I find this humorous, because I am on an extremely low cycle. It is rediculous what doctors feel are acceptable levels of testosterone. I had my testosterone checked last year while I was not on a cycle and it was 1400. The hysteria they preach is uninformed and borders on negligence. My liver enzymes were not even the least bit elevated.
I am sure he is going to be on my ass everytime I go to see him now. I wish I could find a doctor that is knowledgable and does not buy into all the hysteria and hype.
