Doc ok'd use of HCG...need some ordering help

My HRT/TRT doc has ok'd the use of small amounts of HCG for me. 250iu per day, 2 days per week. He's actually following Swale's HRT protocol (from the ScultpedByIron forum). He has not administered HCG like this and has told me to do the legwork in terms of getting it ordered. Can you guys help me out?

1) 1IU = 1USP, correct? The HCG (Profasi) that I'm looking at comes in 5000 USP and 10000 USP containers.

2) Since HCG has a short shelf life, I'm assuming I want the 5000 USP container. It'd take me 10 weeks to use it all, but I'll just get a new one every 7-8 weeks.

3) What kind of needles should I ask for from the pharmacy?

Thanks! :D

Use insulin syringes. Why don't you get Rx from your doc and just buy it from a pharmacy? Especially if you have health insurance. Usually, HCG is in IU's, same as insulin, but I do not know about Profasi, so maybe some one can confirm the measurement.

Not trying to be rude, but if your HRT/TRT doesn't even know how to administer HCG, he shouldn't be prescribing it for you. Find a new Doc.

That's what I'm sayin. Somethin doesn't sound right here with this story.

For injectable stuff, I have to use a mail-order pharmacy (insurance covers it), but they are pretty helpless unless you spell it out super clear.

vicious: I feel that way sometimes, but overall, I like working with a doc who lets me be in the driver's seat. He gives me a lot of freedom. HRT for a 30 year old is not that common and the benefits of HCG (testicular function) in HRT are not as important to older people on HRT who have no plans to have any more kids. In short, HCG is something that he rarely uses and he told me up front that he hasn't used it in years. I prefer this approach than dealing with the close-minded super conversative doctor who won't let me do anything (had one of those...).

Before I get flamed, let me clarify. Insulin syringes are marked in IUs. So, a typical insulin syringe is 1cc/100units. So, with your HCG, you would need to know how many IUs per cc you have. For example, my HCG comes in 10,000IU's per 10cc. Or 1000IUs per cc. I dose at 250IUs at a time which is .25 of a cc or 25 units on the insulin syringe.

What did you do that caused you to be on HRT at 30?

Hell if I know! I just complained of low sex drive and feeling tired a lot. Doc drew several Testosterone levels. They all came back in the low-mid 200's.

The only problem that I've had that is even remotely related was that I had a bad lingual hernia (large intestine had descended into my sack) that really messed up my left nut. That was in '97 though.

HRT has been a mixed bag. I've felt good on it at times...shitty during others. We've got my Testosterone levels stabilized in the mid 600's with 100mg/week of Test Cyp. I had previously been on 400mg/e3w but that was a real rollercoaster ride. 100mg/week is a lot better in terms of stability, but there's definitely room for improvement. This is where the HCG comes in...

I had them order this:

Profasi
5000 USP/10 mL
16 insulin syringes

That'll be good for 8 weeks, but I'll reorder at 6 to avoid the HCG going bad. Thanks for the input so far.

LOL...you guys really think I'm gonna come in here and lie? :lmao: This is a steroid forum...sheez. What do I have to hide? Besides, the amount of HCG that I'm asking for is useless from an AAS perspective.

I have considered finding a new doc that is more of an HRT specialist, but this circle jerk HMO is a joke. I had to wait 3 months just to see this one and I'm not gonna stop right in the middle of treatment to find someone else and have to wait 3 more months.
