Do you work out when you're sick?

I'm about to. I have a mild fever and swollen glands, shouldn't be enough to keep me out of the gym.

do it pussy

Thanks. That's the kind of motivation I need. Tell me how undiscliplined I am if I skip another workout. I could go tomorrow, but I had planned on going tonight and I don't like to let myself down. After 6 months or so of steady cardio workouts, I'm think I'm great shape again. I hate doing cardio though. It's 20 minutes of hell. I think that's why so many guys neglect it. Nothing fun about it.

Unlike Lestat, I can screw for 30 minutes without wheezing and sweating like a pig.

Sometimes I'm a tough guy, other times I'm a pussy. Depends on my mood.. A guy could walk up and shove me and trash talk me and I'd do nothing sometimes, other times I'd drop him on his head.

It just sounds like you need to be more consistent.

Story of my life.

Fuck Yeah I Work Out When I Am Sick Just Not As Heavy.......work Out No Matter What......just Do What Your Body Tells You In The Gym.....

I generally always work out if I am sick. Usually don't stay sick as long if I spend time in the gym. The only time I didn't was when I had emergency galbladder surgery and couldn't move for about a week due to stitches and incisions. Week # 2 though, I made it as far as the treadmill and walked slowly for 20-30 minutes each day. By week #6 I was pretty much back to normal aside from ab work.

studies have shown it to be beneficial to the immune system only at the onset of symptoms and at the end of the illness.

Listen to your body. Missing a few days won't hurt you and it may actually help you. You're more likely to injure yourself by pushing your body when it's not up to par.

I try to work out at the house, that way i don't fuck everyone else at the gym with my cold.

If you train insane you dont have time to be sick. If you dont have time for sickness, you will not get sick!

No...I used to when I was younger, but as the years went on, I figured out that energy spent in the gym is energy taken away from the immune system. I'd rather take time out of the gym and get back to 100 percent faster.

Energy used in training only boosts the immune system. Sure if a little "off" maybe go a little lighter & easier. But if training continues, you will recover faster & feel better quicker physically, mentally & emotionally.

This is contrary to what I have experienced whenever I've tried to train with either a cold or flu. If I train, it takes longer to shake the bug. If I stay in and take it easy, take naps, drink plenty of fluids, and keep my carb intake high...I get better quicker.

Well I did it. I wasn't that sick, but didn't have much energy so I skipped cardio. Will have to do it tomorrow.

If I'm "ON", then I train as scheduled with low rep sets only.
If I'm "Natural" (like now) I go to the Gym and see what happens. Sometimes I end up with a good workout, sometimes it ends up being better than nothing, and sometimes I turn around and go back home after a couple of warm up sets.

I'll do cardio, sometimes breaking a sweat will help me breathe better.
