I don't get understand how they understand what the other said especially when they are rambling half the time. I know some terms but sometimes, it's not even a sentence. It's just words that are all pronounced in a way you can't understand and in no particular sentence structure.

If you live in a major American City that has ghettos and you happen to work in them, you don't just understand what they are talking about but you also become proficient in that lingo also. You have to be in order to communicate effectively with them.

Most won't know about what I guess you could call southern black slang. If you picture bubba from forrest gump but string the words together even more like all southerners do, you get country folk as my black friend calls them. He'll bring this one guy over who we have hung out with a bunch of times. It took us forever to figure out what he was saying and my friend would even crack on him when he wasn't there of course. Actually listen to Roy Jones jr talk and then multiple the combining of words by 2

either way, its has a lot to do with hip hop and a lot of metaphoric terms they use.

eg. I will be flossing my blings at club nite
Flossing refers to ' to show off'
Blings refers to the 'assets' could be there jewelers, shoes, anything.

When I worked in the factories, the black people had a unique language style that was more Southern. We were a team and I could understand the slang, but I would get lost sometimes. I'd just shut up to keep from embarassing myself. And I was The Man who handed out the pay checks.

Today ... I am lost in hip-hop, but I still really enjoy the humor. A lot from this generation is kill and crime oriented and that really turns me off.

Chapell ... yes. Snoop Dog ... 50% and it is super clever. Woo Tan Clan? I'm lost. LOL

When the black dudes at work really get going amongst themselves, I can't understand a word. It seems to be a language without consonants, all I hear is vowels and inflection.

I lve pretty close to Gary IN and work out with many people who speak this "slang" your speaking of but I'm used to it and it wears off on ya. Now I find myself sayin shit liek "whats happenen dawg." Or "I'll gi u dat plug just holla dawg you know me." Or "Alright man I gotsta dip" or "be up". or "alright bet."
