Do you trust Fitday?

Snappy

New member
I have recently become a member with Fitday, and I usually plug in my own numbers for the things I eat, but I don't think the site is accurate for how many calories I burn, especially a category they call "lifestyle" (not BMR, not activity).

Anyone have thoughts on whether or not Fitday is to be trusted?

Thanks. :)

I personally don't trust what they say for BMR. The only thing I use fitday for is tracking calories, and even then I just plug in my own numbers. I don't use whats on their site.

They have accurate values for things such as Cheerios, Quaker Oat Bran, skim milk, apples, potatoes, egg whites, etc. They include trace carbohydrate and everything so you know exactly. The only stuff I plug in is packaged goods such as canned goods, egg-beaters, un-listed cereals, etc.

There's no website that can make those kind of measurements accurately. Fitday comes as close as you can get.

Look for a program online called Crosstrainer II. I only use it for tracking calories but it has a huge database for normal food items and you can add custom items to it as well. It also keeps track of macronutrient %'s and such. It also has a bunch of other features for cardio and weight training but I just use it for the calorie tracking features.
