Yes in quantum mechanics, the idea of normal physics goes out the window for this concept.

In quantum mechanics normal physics don't apply, so we are stuck with our ideas of known physics, but we must continue to develop quantum theories and test them before we say no to time travel.

Hey PhysicsBastard- Wasn't there somebody who claimed that if time travel was possible, the energy requirement for it would be larger than all the combined energy in the whole universe, thereby making it impossible?

I don't know, but I think I read that someplace.

Of course it's possible. Michael J Fox and Christopher Lloyd did it.

Highly improbable(I neversay impossibe)

I'll show you why:

According to the special theory of relativity:

This equationis known as a time-dilation equation

T2 = T1 / (root of)[ 1 - v2/c2 ]

Where,

T2= perceived time by an observer
T1= Actual time experienced by the object
v= Speed of object
c= speed of light=constant

Now, lets look at what happens when v > c

Re-arranging the equation we get:

T2[ (root of)[1- v2/c2) = T1

Now, v2/c2 > 1.00000

So,

T2(root of)(- X ) = T1

Now, further extrapolating, the root of a negative integer
becomes a complex number

i.e. (root of)[-X] = (root of)(X) * i

Therefore,

T2 * (root of)[ X] * i = T1

So, the relationsip between T2 and T1 is prortional
to (root of)[X] * i

Since Complex numbers come in the form a + ib
(Same principleas a x,y co-ordinate plane,
except a complex plane is called an ARGAND diagram)

Then the proprtionality only has a vertical function that HAS
to be positive.
So basically the range is y = (0,infinity)

What does all this mean?

That time is LINEAR and you cant go out-side of time.

That's impossible because two exact objects or "matter", cannot coexist.

isnt that from TimeCop? i dont see why two exact same objects cant exist in the same time. there really is no basis for that assumption that i can think of.

I used to do it all the time

Just drop some good acid, lay back and enter the world of pure conciousness. You can go backward into your own experiences. As real as when you experienced them originally. The forward in time and the other dimensions are an unknown. Since we haven't arrived there yet your mind can only create one of many possible future scenarios. The Astral Projection thing is great too.

In a way you're always in the past. The farther an object is from you (from your perspective) the farther it is in the past. The stars above, they aren't really there anymore. Some have burned out and the rest are in different locations.

This thing about the tenses of time is something we humans made up. Everything is just for the moment.

The other good thing about acid is that in some cases(mine did) it removes all the word/definition programming that has been plugged into you since you were born. The word/definition thing becomes your rational conciousness. Animals don't have this problem. They communicate, but I doubt they sit around wondering the nature of the universe. They just go about the business of surviving. We are the ones whose heads are clogged up with a lot of useless garbage.

But when you come down it's back to square one. Those who don't come down....usually become residents of the local 'Looney Bin'. I'm not so sure that they're not the lucky ones.

another way too look at it is, if you went back to yesterday, that means at one time there would two of you existing at the same time. That's impossible because two exact objects or "matter", cannot coexist. Even if you went back thousands of years, there would still be tiny pieces of you floating around somewhere in the universe....only the right set of circumstances hasn't happened yet for those tiny pieces to come together to become "you".

Yes, thats true.

If two people were to ccuppy the same time and space
dimension, the one that wasn't endigeneous to that
time-frame(i.e. the time traveller) would suffer
from "entropic cascade falure" and be destroyed.

"Entropic cascade failure" = two Quantum duplicates
create TOO much entropy and chaos ensues(destruction)
so that the quantum entropy is diverted back to normal.

This of course is EXTREMELY theoretical.

You guys should read up on the Montauk Project and the Philadelphia Experiment and about Tesla and Einstein's involvement with them. People have already traveled in time, although it went horribly wrong.

Well I know for a fact you can travel back 30 years in time in just a couple of hours. Drive over to Alabama.

get out of here. theres no way im buying the two objects cant exist in the same time. who is coming up with a theory on that anyway? someone is definitely jumping the gun on that.
