When a woman asks you this question, what is the correct answer? I've never answered this correctly. I've said yes, no, I'm not sure, I feigned deafness once but none of these were the appropriate response.

If I answer "No honey, you look fine", she'll say "you're lying just to make me feel better!".

If I answer "Yes honey, you're overweight", she responds by hitting me with a kitchen appliance.

If I say "I'm not sure" she says "You never pay enough attention to me!"

If I feign deafness she starts crying and says "You never listen to me!".

Whatever you do, don't say "Honey, you should start going to the gym with me." I'm not sure why but when I said this to a girlfriend once I was rapidly ejected from my own apartment.

Yano - it depends on the girl.

Is she just looking for attention or does she have a body image problem? My roomate in college (5'9, 118 lbs) cried of how fat she was and after months of saying, "what are you nuts?" I finally broke down and told her , "You know your ass is looking a bit rounder now that you mention it."

She never mentioned it again.
