Men (especially straight but even gays have admitted) are biologically programmed to be attracted to feminine bodies. I think covering 'em up just makes the desire stronger. In Europe there are more relaxed laws and rules on showing skin, so it's not as big a deal to them. For such an advanced society I wouldn't be surprised if this country still has more overall sexual dysfunction and/or aggression for the sole fact that we're still pretty prudish about it.

sex is openly used for marketing and billboarding for all to see
yea some pockets of prudishness and some political clout, but overall meh more moderate to left.
and is euroland really that lax on sexual shit? maybe in the last 100 years but victorian england or napoleonic france was not exactly sexually free
We don't have a problem when it comes to corporations making money off of it. But contrast that with the more personal, social side of things.

We have the highest birth, abortion, pregnancy rates, and overwhelmingly the highest STD rates. Even though the teen pregnancy rate has dropped dramatically over the decades, it's still by far the highest. I doubt much has changed since 2000.

Our attitudes on sex are very immature and the greater social results speak for themselves. Not saying we're the only ones by any means, but again, for such a developed, resource/information-heavy country we should be doing better than most, not worse.
