So let's say that you KNOW who an EF "persona" is in real life. He or she is not one of your closest friends but you definitely know each other. He or she doesn't know who you are. Should you or should you not tell him/her?

Depends on the situation, and what is going on with the boards vs life outside elite.

If they were posting suicidal tendencies, then I would open up to them. If it were the usual bullshit around here, then I wouldn't

I probably would.

There was a dude on here that I used to work with.

I was walking by his cube and saw it up on his monitor.

So called he police and had his ass arrested.
No, not really. But I like that story.

I really did work with a dude on here - no clue what is up with him anymore.

THE END

Mark is that you?:)

Think about it for a second though. Let's say, hypothetically that I know with 100% certainty who someone is. I'm not really close with him/her but we sort of hang around the same folks. But all of a sudden I also know his/her favorite sexual position because of EF posts? Ya know?

enjoy it. work it a bit. see what else you can find out, and then use it to play around in real life (conversational escapades).

oh, but smoke a joint first.

i've sort of already done that a bit but i don't want to be a complete jackass either.

LOL..Well, at least it's by their admission in posts and not beacuse you bagged 'em in the sack!

ok, people, i've never used the word "bump" to get attention or increase my post count (since that's what bump really means) but this time, I need help.

I'm not a "people person" (although dogs and kids love me) and I really don't know what to do. What's the proper protocol for disclosing your real identity online when it could, potentially, embarrass the living hell out of someone. You extroverted people loving people, lend a guy a hand, would ya?

maybe it's the other way around. i like dogs and kids but people? not so much. most of 'em are annoying as hell. anyway, you're still not being helpful...

I think it really depends on the other persons personality...are they the kind to freak out easily?

I recognized someone off here once....we hung out and ended up being pretty good friends for a while, although she doesn't post here anymore. Would I want more than one or two people from here to know who I am? No way. My posts are often of a personal nature (drugs, sex, etc) -- I wouldn't want my friends or co-workers know reading them.

Just play it by ear dude.

I don't know anybody but some1 may know me. My username pretty much sums it up. If you know my real name then you know who I am...

Peace.

Good point there. I wasn't even thinking about how it would affect me. Hmmmm.... maybe not.

Exactly. Run a search on your user name...there's 600-and-some posts out there with your name on 'em. :) Do you really want someone you know personally doing the same thing?

I'm actually pretty much this bad in person as well.
So anyone that knows me in person would recognize me on here.
Or is it recognise?
Either way, I'd be the one touching himself in the corner.
