Myself.. except for the guy thing... Everyone usually gets a kiss on the lips and a hug.
 
i do the italian kissy thing because alot of my friends are italian.. but i would prefer not too
 
I think it's fine to do, but I just do the hug and cheek for women.

Sometimes the women kind of just brush their cheek against mine.

Men get a handshake and a hug if it's been more than a month or so.

Good idea. I will start the "kissing family members on the lips" thing whenever I get married and raise a family.

Hopefully my daughters will turn out hot.

In my family we hug the women and handshake with the men, there is no kissing involved, except sometimes for the really old, and then it's only on the cheek. I can't imagine kissing any family member on the lips, that just seems wrong to me.
 
In some families the men kiss each other on the lips.

It's all dependent on culture. I don't think it's particularly wrong, except for perhaps in the sense of disease control.
 
I married into an Italian family so I had to get used to the kiss on each cheek thing.

I hug female friends, shake hands with the boys, some get the pull in one arm hug.
 
my euro half does "the two kissy cheek thing", my brazillian ex-and friends do the lips thing or "the four kissy cheek italian overboard enough already if you're hot kiss me on the lips already thing".

my familly does the cheek thing, although i have thought about trying to slip my sister in law the tongue, i have yet to pull "the JA thing" and actually do it...

Mom, Dad & oldest brother, hug and a kiss on the cheek. The other two brothers, just a hug.

When my relatives from Holland are over, it's 3 kisses, alternating cheeks. All hell brakes loose if you start off with one person going to the wrong side. lol.. Then you may end up with at least one inadverdently on the lips.

I say 'hi'...that's it.
And that's if I can't convince them I'm someone else (which works sometimes)
Then I try to kill any chance of a conversation and get the hell outa there ASAP.

My family has always just settled for rubbing each other's crotch with our hands. It's affectionately known as a "crotch-shake".

A quick simultaneous crotch rub and a genuine smile suffices after those long periods of abscence.

Yeah, O.K., that's just sick...

Actually whenever we get together we just poke each other in the eye with a stick to say "Hello!".

well i used to kiss my grandfather on the cheek but hes gone now so theres noone else
