Do you keep your Peanut Butter refrigerated ?

How do you keep & eat your peanut butter? Refrigerated or room temperature?

Left in room temp all the fat goes up and I find it's taste and texture funny. I prefer to stir it and refrigerate it. Comes out tastier. I wonder if the calories remain the same or maybe the density and nutritional value changes a bit ?

I'm about to try Mr.X PB diet and was wondering..

I always have it refrigerated and i make sure to stir it around since some oil tends to separate (natural PB). Eat it with a spoon...

as soon as i open it i mix it good. i mean so much mixing my arms get tired. otherwise, once you get to about that last 1/3, it's almost like clay. and yes, i keep it refrigerated.

A pretty good rule of thumb is when you open most contains that are air sealed, they should be refrigerated afterwards, which includes natty PB :)

yep, im thinking of getting that natty pb that you grind yoiurself then pay by weight....i eat soooooooooooo much pb that im tired of stirring the jars when i first open them.

ditto babyfaced.

i let it sit overnight in the fridge upside down before i open it. then i stir the living end out of it and continue to store it upside down and usually mix it up a couple more times before the jar is done. i'm all about the homogenization, yo.

I stir it up really well (making sure to get the bottom up into the oil) then keep it in the fridge. If you mix it well enough it stays easy to spread.

Good idea about the upside down.

wow- good ideas here.

I never put my natty pb in the fridge, but now I will. And store it upside down :)

hehe I kep mine in the freezer actually. I prefer the consistency, and it softens real quick anyway. (plus it slows me down, otherwise I eat too much)

Well, we all have our preferences I guess, but I like mine room temperature. And I bet that we all go through it fast enough where worrying about it going bad because it is not in the fridge is not really an issue.

Good thought on the upside down storage though, I may give this a try.

Yup, everyone is different; personally, I can't stand warm protein like I can't stand warm water - and I lot of my clients are like this too. :)

You tend to eat more cold peanut butter than warm PB

It's true, but the amount is marginal. Personally, I measured cold vs. warm w/ a scale and it came out to w/in 5calories.

Old Fashioned PB...in the fridge...but I take it out a few minutes to let it soften up a bit.

YUMMM!
