Do you have nothing but problems with Microsoft products??

Microsoft sucks big time but unfortunately most people are either too lazy or not geeky enough to switch to a better alternative like Linux

The only thing I've shied away from is Internet Explorer. Maybe it's better now but I had enough of popups and spyware.
Oh, and my Windows media player (9) doesn't open up when I click it. It'll just give sound and no video, and will only display in the task bar. Nothing will bring it up to the screen. I use system restore a few times and it'll work but it keeps happening. I said fuck it. DivX and VLC are much better movie players anyway.

Whoa - flashback...

I posted something similiar recently...

Incidently you can run Windows on a Mac - I wonder if the problems would be the same?

I guess the real question is - is it a software or hardware thing...

I dunno

I have an IMB laptop from 1995 that STILL works - it's really slow and comparabily offers very little but that fucker just won't die.

Seems like Windows needs to have its hand held along the way - when doing anything

Fortunately for me I am pretty good with it.

And also I'd never pay for microsoft software....

No, I design operating system builds for a large utility company .. all on version sof XP (used to be 2000).

We have very few problems and have a 99% uptime in our desktop environment.

Most of the problemsyou see are actually application related, some sorry ass developer making bad API calls expecting the OC to clean up their bullshit mess.

We have ~600 application approx 25% of the written in house.. rarely.. very rarely is it the OS.

And as far as Linux goes.. when you start seeing people dfevelop the plethora of bullshit apps written in mongolian and klingon ... you'll see that OS crash like a russian jet fighter.
