Do you have better workouts when the gym if packed??

I think I feed off the other people in the gym when its packed and I have much more intense workouts than when the gym is slow and empty. It does suck to have to wait sometimes but oh well. I think its cuz I go to a pretty cool gym where its mainly dudes my age who are just their to workout and not bullshit around....not to many dumbasses in the gym i go to.
 
I like it when it's dead but generally I'm in a zone and phase everything out except the music I'm jammin' too. Maybe Candiria today. :Chef: :tuc:

Creative do a few really small ones. I have a MuVo Tx.

I definitely prefer a mostly-empty gym. It's good to have a few guys around but too many and you start to trip up over each other.
 
I like going to gym early in the morning. My workouts are a lot better. No cardio bunnies and very few twinkies (they usually arrive after 6:30am), no meatheads, no fashionistas, etc. Anyone that wakes up at 5:00am to go to the gym is there to workout and not socialize (and hog the squat racks and benches).

everytime I go in the morning , its depressing...everyone is hideous, beastly women with no makeup looking like ass, out of shape older men wearing tanks tops ...ewwww.

:lmao: I was doing bench presses next to one like that this morning. Sweet man, he removed the plate that was under the decline bench (how hard is it to put the plate back?) for me.

Subz - I went to bed at 10:30pm. Your body gets use to it (and taking 1 Cardio Breeze pill in the morning makes it a little easier too).

Chefbone - A twinkie is a female that brings pink weights into the free weight room and then has the nerve to look at me like I'm the freak when I'm doing squats.
 
sometimes I do

its nice to be throwing around more weight than 90% of the other goobers in the gym.

when its empty it takes longer for me to workout ironically.

But later on in the day the buff chick comes in and I get distracted so there's the tradeoff
 
i can do either one....sometimes if its empty i can zone in...last night some of the big boys were in pushing some real weights for a change, that seems to bring up the level of training for me...24 hr fitness is not a hardcore gym, so it was cool to see alot of guys who knew what they were doing pushing some iron around...i spend alot of my time every day counseling/instructing people which i enjoy, but its nice to have people on your level there too , it ups the ante' a bit....get to train harder.
 
my gym is so weak, i need a change of scenry something fierce.
i hate when their is people their, i like it empty
 
I cannot tolerate being in the gym when its packed or even close to being crowded. I do enjoy a few other patrons while Im training, but if its too many, i get a lot of anxiety going on which doesnt not make for a good workout
 
Lately, I'd much rather work out at home.

my gym has that too, weird

and 10:30 ? it takes a little while to fall asleep too, thats like 6 hours of sleep, i could never do that
 
I have shit workouts when the gym is packed. I usually walk in with a workout plan in my head, and if I have to rearrange things to fit the availability of apparatus in the gym, it throws me off. I'm not able to channel that anger and frustration into my lifts.

Waiting for stick boy to finish doing his curls in the squat cage is the worst.
 
Awww, so cute sitting there unwanted.

It's no fun having your workout disrupted by having to work around people and waiting for cages and benches to become free. I like to be into my first set before 3:30 to have a decent chance of getting my workout in without getting crowded.
 
My gym is big enough so that no matter how crowded I can usually get my workout in with little change in my plan. That's not to say that people don't annoy me, I just TRY to zone them out.
 
greased up eurotrash in ripped jeans walking right next to you during a set, the gotti boys in their wife beaters and ice, the hideously ugly old people staring at you, the fat fuck and his equally fat son doing 25lb curls in the rack for 30 minutes, the fruity little homos mincing around & making out in the locker room and the cleaning staff who insist on cleaning the bench while you use it or vaccuming around your feet while you deadlift...

no, I don't have good workouts when bally is crowded. qt knows what a truely horrible place it is to train in prime-time.
 
I like it busy, because I feed off of the atmosphere of it... But, I hate it when it is packed. I could never lift at home, just because I need to feed off of the "gym atmosphere" too really get a good workout in...
 
having a couple hotties and a couple bigger guys to check out between sets is good, for admiration/motivation/competition. Feels more like a team effort with more people around... but I never work out on Mondays

agree. Late afternoon when the hardcore BBs are there & before 6pm meat market crowd.
