car rental company? We are driving to FL next week and I am looking into full size car or an SUV. Tried Hertz and Avis and their prices are like 260 for full size and around 400 for SUV after taxes (for 1 week unlimited miles)

why do you hate me so much?
pintoca said:Try Alamo... or use expedia or something to compare online... you don't have to go to all the individual sites, just use a site that compares prices and that is

Raina said:I don't know anything about this but it would be kind of cool if you took an old wagon and 2 oxen. You could write a journal as you journied...a modern "oregon trail". I hope nobody dies of cholera though....
jack schitt said:I'd give you my corporate discount code, but I would probably get in trouble. I rented a truck from Enterprise a couple of times last year...prices were fair and the vehicle was clean.
Raina said:I'm getting mad that people aren't taking me more seriously.
But seriously, in college I'd send out a weekly family email from the "Pioneer Princess" and I'd tell pretend tales of my wagon train experiences. Thankfully my family is used to me being moderately deranged. They all loved them. Probably because I rock.
Raina said:Did you buy the rifle to shoot buffalo out on the trails? A good rifle is a key piece of gear for a good pioneer.
Raina said:The last time I was out on the trails I had a rough time. My sister died from a snake bite. We could only carry 150 pounds of the venison we shot. Our wagon's axel kept breaking. And to top it off, one of the oxen died.
Being a pioneer is tough work.
jack schitt said:Nah...it's really no big deal...it's just that they get pissed off at me in particular because I bought a $700 hunting rifle with the company credit card and got away with it.
