components that may allow us to achieve much greater levels of physical and mental power? Something, perhaps, more mystical than science provides? I am tortured with thoughts like these. I wonder if there were great and powerful people of the distant past who possessed knowledge and abilities that are far beyond the people of this time, but are lost to the ages. Especially concerning the concept of life force, or chi (ki). Although there is a *tiny* bit of science to enforce the possibility of its existence, our understanding of it is limited to what is taught by the very best martial arts teachers. In Muay Thai, from day one, I was taught to focus on this life energy and harness it to deliver much more powerful strikes. I was taught to use it to deaden and separate yourself from the sensation of pain. I was taught to "will" my bones not to break from the extreme forces during combat. Also, I was taught to turn my true rage into something totally different. Rather than letting it remain rage to cloud my judgement and cause sloppy performances, I am to "convert" it into a colder form of hate, that is compact within the heart so that in a mental sense of I am detached from it, but can use the power it provides so that I may vanquish my opponent and protect those who should not be involved in the confrontation, including myself. Also, I was taught to not be disrupted when someone strikes me. The damage is extremely small (mainly capillary rupture) and my body is more than fortified enough to withstand vicious attack, so all that is necessary is to protect the vital areas as if it were pure instinct and unleash the fury that has welled up inside of me when my opponent is at his or her greatest disadvantage.
Seriously, though. With regard to the first thing I talked about, it is almost like Compensatory Acceleration Training and Low-rep strength training. Two almost opposite methods of training eventually come to produce a similar result, with only minor differences in the final analysis.
I used to use low voltage/current electricity to increase my feeling of pain so that I would have to learn to withstand that pain. I would increase it in a progressive fashion, but sometimes I would do more than I should have, but dealt with that level of pain any way...I could have turned it down. I had that choice, but I taught myself to believe that the choice did not exist. I could either exist with the pain at the level that it was at, or not exist. Unfortunately, short of controlled lightening bolts, I will have to now resort to more drastic means. I am trying to figure out, among MANY other things, the "best" way to send electrical signals across parts of my brain in order to further progress. I have already empowered the heart, but I need to empower both the cerebellum , for motor control enhancement, and the cerebrum, for sensual (not sexual, dumb asses) and cognitive increases. The problem lies in avoiding adverse stimulation of the medulla oblongata. If I screw up, I could stop breathing. That does not seem worth risking. I will use a EMS/TENS machine to achieve this, as it uses low amounts of electricity, and I think it would be wise to put the pads on each temple and, after a period of "electric therapy", reverse the pads so that the signal get an equal amount of time in the opposite direction. I chose the temple because it is a comparatively thin area of the skull that has low probability of directly interfering with my medulla activity.
I welcome any thoughts you can contribute. Thanks.
