My roomates girlfriend would be an absolute stunner if she dropped about 30 lbs. She'd still be a bit on the heavy side but she'd look amazing.

She's a dead ringer for Marisa Tomei....or um, 2 Marisa Tomei's.

Not everyone who is overweight has a choice...I have a friend who can't wait to lose 30-40 pounds but she is on medication for a serious condition.. It made her gain a lot of water weight/weight.

She goes to the gym and watches what she eats, but she is on medication to save her life.. Maybe you guys should just consider that when you make comments about someone..

She is really self-conscious because of people like you..

I don't think we have been waling up to people and assessing their physique.

Reminds me...I have a close friend who has an amazing physique and a big ego but is 5'9" A tall guy guy at the bar asked "where did you come from, did you crawl between my legs." My friend was steaming mad. KInd of funny but awfully rude.

Now then...does the average American women now outweigh the average American man? I would not be too surprised.

Well, for one she reads this site for fitness information so I bet others do to..

Second, everything I've read here I've heard spoken around her.. Almost exact words.. If you are going to write about it on the internet, you are probably more prone to say it..

Yeah, and like every girlfriend that I have, I'm always trying to thin her down. Hard to find one that is naturally thin and athletic, cause if she doens't have a fast metabolism - then not much luck with her staying that way for long.

True. Good point. I have a friend like that too. We used to tease her because she was so tall and skinny. Not anymore since she went on the medication.

Listen up, the thing with people who are fat is that, they either know that they are fat, and they have no problems with that, more power to them. OR they know that they are fat and they are miserable enough without some stranger telling them they'd look better if they'd lose weight. CLUE: They already know they are fat.

If anything at all, just tell the fat girl she is stunning, and then do something real subtle like hand her a business card with the name of the gym on it and let her know you work there if she ever wants to check out the gym. (NOTE: This will only work if you actually work at a gym)

The dude that work out with me is a big asshole. He carries a stack of 24 hr fitness cards, and will give them to girls who are overweight. He even does this shit when we go to strip bars, instead of tipping them a dollar, he gives them a card.

Ok...now that is just wrong if he just gives them out to random fat people without having any good intentions behind it or if he does not say anything to turn it into a positive, constructive criticism. Especially the stripper thing, if you're gonna frequent a strip joint in the first place at least treat them with some kind of respect! What a jackass!
