I don't really know. They do though, because I used to think the same thing(dudes who tan are gay).


I think as people get older it becomes much less of a big deal. I know if I was 24 or something I probably wouldn't hesitate like I do now.

My scalp was snow-white.

My hair couldn't grow back fast enough.

i think if it wasn't considered gay alot more guys would go. i know i would, i only go this time of the year when it SHOULD be getting warmer and im cutting. when im bulking or its summer there is no reason IMO

Skin cancer runs in my family...so I am somewhat scared. A girl at work said that I should get a spray tan. I thought those only lasted a week or so, but you can get them now that last around 2 months. I didn't know that. I need to do something tho...white as can be!

I sunburn too easily. After getting a small basal cell carcinoma removed from my hand, my dermatologist told me that tanning is not a good idea for me.

If it runs in your family, don't tan. I tanned in a salon for about 2 yrs. and just had a pre-cancerous mole removed. Had I not gone to the dermatologist in time it would have progressed. I've used self tanning lotions successfully but they're expensive not to mention a pain to keep up. After the initial 3 or 4 applications, I need to do it twice a week to keep it up. I'm going to try the spray tan soon and see if it's easier. I hate being so fair.

I think a tan looks great and definitely doesn't look gay. I live in FL and my husband is Italian, he can go sit out for 15 minutes and it looks like he spent a week tanning in the salon. I'm so jealous!

i think going to tanning salons is not right. just my opinion. being out in the sun and tanning or being active is a more "natural" way. i know a lot of people say that these tanning salons have non-harmful UV rays or whatever and it's better for your skin, but if you're that worried about it, then don't go outside in the sun at all. wear sunscreen, know your limits, and enjoy doing something outdoors while getting a tan. it's better for you when you realize that you're actually doing something productive or relaxing instead of laying in a UV bed for 10 minutes.

i'm pretty white, but really couldn't care. tanning fades tattoos faster. considering how much money i've put into my tattoos, you think i wanna fade them?
