Do people try to disguise karma threads?

We've all seen them. They look like regular posts on the surface, but then you notice the words KARMA KARMA KARMA all over them. Sometimes they are about songs from the '80s (Karma Chameleon) or it's Omega telling everybody how glad he is that people have finally stopped posting stupid karma threads... only to have everybody jump in and sign up. One time Addickt wrote this rediculous post about being able to ressurect flies - and of course the fly's name just happened to be "Karma." Are these karma threads? Or are these innocent examples of how the word KARMA can infiltrate our lives?
