Most canadian just speak english. But the smart ones will speak both langages since it gives you more opportunities.

I think his question was: Do most of the canadian ELITE MEMBERS speak french? I answered yes in pourcentage regarding the number of people here who speak french versus the population in Quebec. It's a strong pourcentage! I think there is more people on this board from Montreal than Calgary as an example.

I speak french, like Manny said, gives your more opportunities in certain places. Its not spoken very much out west tho.

There many french all over the country but we say that Quebec is where there most of them.
Ontario as 2 millions of them, NB, Manitoba and Alberta have also a strong french community, but we never hear from them

Just English & a bit of German for me. It's not really necessary to be bilingual unless you plan on being a civil servant or work at a call centre. Then it's a must.
