Spent a month in Ghana for a contract and everyone either looked either very young or in their late thirties. Didn't see any seniors.

There are 50 some countries in Africa. Life expectancy is about 50 based on what I just looked up on the CIA factbook. But the low life expectancy of 50 could just be due to high childhood mortality rates (Some have rates as high as 20%) and HIV.

So if you don't get HIV or die in childhood you'll probably live to be 70 in most of Africa.
