Been reading some about smart drugs but don't know very much about it and it seems pretty interesting. Do any of you have any experience with these drugs? Below are some smart drugs and their descriptions from another guy:
Piracetam
-Definitely increases concentration and in particular the depth of
my thought. For me, this in turn translated into enhanced reasoning, logical deduction and the ability to read for sustained periods of time (which was in part due to the elimination of ruminative preoccupation with irrelevant thoughts while reading).
-No notable improvement in long-term or short-term memory, although my working memory was enhanced.
-Ideas for essays seem to flow more easily and my essays were
generally more structured
-Comment: for somebody that is just beginning a smart-drug regimen I definitely suggest piracetam should be included. I purchase mine from IAS, who I find to be one of the best sources for smart-drugs. However, Sherwyn's will be releasing their own brand of piracetam in early December, so you might want to wait until then.
Idebenone
-I have always combined this supplement with many of the other
smart-drugs I take, so it is hard for me to comment on the effects. However, I deem it to be effective in supporting optimum brain metabolic function (i.e. promotes ATP production and has potent antioxidant activity).
Pyritinol
I personally do not use this supplement and never have.
Vinpocetine
-In addition to piracetam, vinpocetine is an integral component of
my smart-drug regime. Many individuals on this news group report positive benefits from this supplement. For me, vinpocetine enhances my level of concentration, produces subtle improvements in all facets of memory and promotes a balanced emotional state.
Comment: I believe you should include vinpocetine as part of your smart-drug regime, as piracetam will provide benefits immediately (60 min), whereas the cognitive improvements due to vinpocetine will take relatively longer to prevail (for me 3-4 weeks)
Vincamine
-The predecessor of vinpocetine. I have not used this supplement.
Picamilon
-Synergises many of the smart drugs I take, which is probably owed to the fact that it causes a pronounced increase in cerebral blood flow and has vasodilating action. The first time I used this - as I stated on this news group - it made me feel agitated, warm and reduced my concentration. However, I persevered using it and on my 4th day I felt mentally more active and alert.
Comment: I am unsure as to how you will respond to this supplement.
CDP-Choline
-No experience with this form of choline. I use Lucidril and
Huperzine A to boost choline levels.
