DNP confusion

A guy I know who I suggested DNP to because of his weight problem (BMI classifies him as obese and he has very high BF%). So I start him off on a 7 day 250mg DNP cycle, had him take an EC stack twice a day and the usual supplements. It is now 4 days since the cycle ended and he has dropped 16lbs of FAT-he was down 20lbs but glycogen and water stores have been replenished. I have confirmed this measurement electronically and it is not water weight, it is body fat. What puzzles me is how this can be the case when DNP raises metabolism by at most 50-70%? There is no way this can account for the fat loss.

Is there something different going on in obese individuals that makes DNP much more effective for them? I am interested in finding out what is going on bio-chemically.

This may relate to the discussion in another thread:

Insulin resistance is very common in obesity. What causes the relationship isn't very well understood.

In insulin resistance, glucose transport into cells is impaired and ketone bodies from fat burning are used more for fuel. The DNP would amplify this effect, leading to greater fat loss in an obese person than in a normal person who can use glucose for fuel during DNP use.

Just my theory; I don't have any studies on DNP use in obesity to back it up.

I would suggest to your friend that he get a checkup to make sure he's not suffering from insulin resistance.
