Dmso

First, take the caps lock off.

Second of all, DMSO is a solvent. If you rub DMSO on yourself, you'll get a sort of garlic-breath happening because of the DMSO absorption and excretion in your breath, but not much else.

Third, change your name.

Idiot.

Damn Doc.!
Why don't you just set him straight???

Take rat poison and spread it all over your skin and put elmers glue on top of it. Do this before you go to gym and you're guaranteed to be a giant.....

Well, if I don't set 'em straight, who the hell's gonna? ;)

If you can't trust your Doctor... :fro:

Another problem with using DMSO is that it will not only bring in the item you wish it too... but also every other impurity on your skin such as bacteria or other things you just do not want in your body.

Also, the skin IS a filter... it will filter out some of what you want to get into your body, thus, skewing your dosages... now... your skin is not a HEY GREAT FILTER! It's an organ... which means, as it absorbs these impurities... it can be damaged as well.

DMSO is just a bad idea all around the board...

Citruscide -- bacteria are a bit too large to pass transdermally... lol, good one!

Was just gonna mention that.

However, he's right in that DMSO acts as an excellent solvating carrier for virtually EVERYTHING on your skin's surface.

Little bit of soap left on your hands? Little bit of pen ink? Rat poison from setting traps? It's all in your bloodstream after you slap DMSO on it.

I was doing some antimicrobial testing once with a colleague (testing novel organic compounds by dissolving them in DMSO, spotting them on a culture plate, and looking for zones of inhibition at various concentrations of substance). Well, she accidentally spilled some of one of the DMSO-solvated compounds on her upper wrist (above her glove) when she mis-handled a vial... we got it rinsed with acetone, ethanol, then hexanes (to try and leach out the organics), and finally water. Even with less than 30 seconds of absorption time of the DMSO-solvated compound, she was VIOLENTLY ill about an hour later. We got most of the spot off within 10-12 seconds (I THREW acetone on her arm ASAP), but she had still absorbed a significant enough amount of compound to really make her sick.

Something to think about when it comes to DMSO.

Fuck that shit!!!

It wasn't the DMSO, it was just the fact that the DMSO carried the compound across the epidermis and into the bloodstream...

I use DMSO-based gels (25% DMSO in petroleum jelly + active ingredient) for all kinds of good stuff... topical anti-inflammatories do well in this mix.

Just gotta make sure your skin, your DMSO, and your product are ALL extremely clean.

-M

Extremely clean, yes... in the bathroom of your house, you'll get your skin extremely clean.

While bacteria may be too large to pass into the bloodstream from the skin, it is not too large to pass into some of the inner layers of skin and can cause some light, mild or serious skin infections.

Choose your posion, I suppose.

If that was directed at me, I just want to make it clear that I have no illusions about home-based 'bathroom clean'.

Not starting a flame war with you here, C-Ditty - just making sure that nobody interprets my statements regarding 'extremely clean' as being the sort of clean you get when you just run your hands under water for a few seconds.

By extremely clean, I mean something like a surgical scrub with a mild detergent soap... something that no one does in a home environment. I quite often take an alcohol wipe and swab my knee before I apply the DMSO/PLO gel concoctions I've been prescribed in the past, just for posterity.

"IS THERE ANYTHING BETTER THAN DMSO"

Do you guys realize thiz guy is sitting here now, in front of his computer, holding his bottle of DMSO and sayin' "damn.. they'z took me for all my worth! This stuff doesn't even LOOK like it's from mexico."

Yeah, DMSO is pretty strange stuff. I played with some once just for shits. The tast it left in my mouth was enought to make me not want to play anymore. I had read up on it and found that once of its original purposes was to relieve arthritus (sp?). I used it on a sore joint, and it did seem to help a bit, but the ass tast in my mouth wasn't very pleasant. On a side note, I work in the boitech field, and every service guy that comes in to work on equipment always says the same thing. "You haven't been using DMSO on this have you?" They are scared shitless of the stuff. It is extremely harsh on the equipment. So if it is that harsh of a substance, it makes you wonder what it could do to you.

Andy...

may I remind you that clambutteroil was banned from this discussion forum long ago... we are hardcore but taking that is just out of the question

lol

Ah guys, this is so bad. The guy asked a legit question and deserves a legit answer.

DMSO is on of the best transdermal carriers around , period!

Many steriods can be effectively used transdermally using dmso

DMSO is extrememly safe to use with minimal precautions and cleanliness

When used properly, USP DMSO(yes i said USP) has very little odor and garlic taste, typically most slather on watered down dmso and wonder why it does not work!

DMSO can cause skin irritations and should be tested before being used to determine your individual sensitivity

Are there better ways to take anabolic steriods? Yes but dmso is an alternative for those who chose to use it.

Anyone who says that it does not work is simply not aware of the proper method of application or has bad information or simply chooses to desseminate bad infromation.

USP DMSO, regardless of its United States Pharmacopoeia purity grade, still gives the sulfurous breath. This is because it is the DMSO itself, not impurities, which gives rise to the halitosis.

It's great, I agree. But the guy who asked the question is still an idiot, and should change his name.

-M

I had a guy the other day at the gym mention he was crushing up anadrol and using DMSO as a delivery agent. Maybe you can explain Dr. M or anyone who knows what would be the advantage to using this method. It would seem that if a steroid is oral activated i.e. 17aa then wouldn't it require the liver to process it before it became active thus making a non-oral delivery method pointless?
