disposing of needles and syringes

wrap 'em up in paper towels with the cap on them until you can no longer recognize it's a needle, then duck tape the whole damn thing a few times, place at bottom of trash - done. takes about 30 seconds.

Just don't dispose of them in a way someone else could get stuck!

I return to needle exchange or local hospital. They are happy to dispose if in sealed container and far better than putting anyone at risk

I have diabetics in our family.. Our local code (which most are similar) for disposal of Haz Med Mat is must be in a securely fastened/closed container (tide bottle, peanut butter jar, 20 oz soda) with lid and can be thrown in trash with all other materials.. No Loose Needles Please!!

I hand them out to little kids at the school behind my house,but in October, I save all of my pins and stick them in apples and candy, I think these are the 2 safest ways of disposing needles

I take mine to work and put in a sharps container. I take those precautions because when I was a little kid a friend and I found some used syringes/needles in the garbage. We thought it was great fun filling them with water and squirting each other. I stuck myself and spent 3 days in the hospital delerious with some unknown infection. I don't want to put anyone elese through that or have them worry about if the needle was from some HIV pos druggie. Imagine a kid gets this needle and brings it home complaining that he stuck himself. mom is gonna freak, call the cops, worry about aids. There is a good chance the cops will try to track the source "you" of that needle. 2 good reasons for " All those precautions"
