disposing of needles and syringes

kids shouldn't play in the garbage. There is plenty of things in the garbage that can cause infection - do you wrap all of those things in protein jars, duct tape, ect...The only precaution i take is seperating the plunger from the pin. I leave the pin its plastic case. Pins are legal in CT - so I am not sure what the cops are going to do.

Maybe if I was a source I would be more careful - detectives are not above searching through a suspected criminals garbage for evidence.

lol.. You are right, kids should not play in the garbage, They still do. They should also not talk to strangers, throw rocks, talk in class or run across the street without looking. They do these things everyday. It's our job as adults to try and protect them. pins may be legal in CT but I can guarentee that there are laws dealing with proper disposal. If a garbage man sees syringes/needles in your trash I can promise that you will get a visit from the law. I don't know what the penalty would be, probably a hefty fine. This is the time of AIDS, everyone is worried about it. To save yourself a possible fine and the hassel of the cops knocking at your door, if not to keep someone from accidently sticking themselves. You might consider at least tightly wrapping them in news paper.

You mean I'm not supposed to just keep using the same ones over and over again ? Damn....that might explain why I've had to resort to using a hammer to drive the syringe through all the scar tissue !

I guess ya learn something new every day.:D

I throw them in my ceiling, like a dart, until they stick...it's almost completely covered. I tell people its modern art.

Kinda like one of the other guys said, I put mine in the oven for a while and make a blob of goo. Then I take it out and eat it(wouldnt wanna waste any gear now would we).
