Disgusting use of protools

Bullit

Colon Cowboy
Platinum
Linkin Park - point of authority.

Wow.
Just listenend to it through heaphones for the first time and the obvious Protools use is disgusting.
Nobody can mute and cut chords that fast & clean.
It alsmost sounds like samples.

They should be embarassed that they have to resort to so much obvious editing instead of relying on their own skills.

You should be banned for listening to that in the first place

It aint my fave, but its in rotation on my work mp3 player. I just copied a buddies directory, and it happened to be in there.

That IS their art. If you like what you hear, you like what you hear. If you do not, you do not.

They are tech nerds and make no bones about it.

Then the way they play live is decieving.
They should all be behind computers & samplers, that would be a more representative concert.

If your nerds than be nerds and use your 'real' tools of music, don't pose with guitars.

They're also in bussiness to make money off what they create. You're idea, though arguably a more genuine representation of what they "do," would not sell very well.

If people consume it, the consumer has no real bussiness complaining. They can spend their money elsewhere.

Wrong... the consumer has every right to complain.
Complaing is intrinsic to the "vote with your dollar" lassiez-faire market.
It is one of the biggest incentives for a producer to manufacture a quality product.

Sure, I agree with you here.

But think about this. Does the consumer have any responsibility regarding what they choose to consume. Like I said, these guys make no bones about the technology they use to create their sounds. I don't think they are hiding it - and I suspect that this is here our opinions differ.

This is entertainment we're talking about here. No monopoly, no one needs to have this particular product. The prospective customer can complain all he/she wants. Nobody must give their dollars to the group. You certainly don't have to.

HOWEVER, those who choose to go to the shows, enjoy the music as well as that show are acting like a fool to complain.

Consumer? You just said you got the songs for free from your friends computer.

Listen to Re-Animation if you want to get really pissed about over production.

A guy I buy PHP coding from made their first fan website and got to meet with them a bunch of times. He said they openly talk about 70% of their music being computer generated.

Either way I think it sounds good.

The difference, then, between Linkin Park and 90% of the "musicians" on the pop charts today is that they don't try to hide the fact that much of their music is computer generated - they celebrate it. Like I said, it's their craft.

I agree 100% with this.
