I have been doing the Madcow 5x5 intermediate for 6 weeks now and was thinking about introducing my younger brother to the 5x5 routines. He is young and would be using the 3x5 begginer routine.
After a little bit of planning, I started to wonder where I fell in between beginner and intermediate. I chose intermediate originally just because I had been working out for a few years. But after some time on this site reading and learning, I realized how badly those few years were spent in relation to mass gains and strength gains, so I'm not sure if I actually would be intermediate.
So I'm wondering, could I have gotten better gains with the begginer routine these past 6 weeks and in the future? I haven't stalled and have been using 5 pound increments over the past 6 weeks. This Monday squat was at 230, Bench was at 210 and Cleans were at 160. I'm 6'1.5, 225 and 18 years old. Anybody have any thoughts or expierience with this?
