Dieting Brain Fog and ....

Dieting is not a great problem for me, ... hunger pangs, even having my stomach growl, no big deal.

What I DO have a great problem with, is a sort of "brain fog" feeling where I cannot concentrate. I get irritable, and cannot focus or communicate well at all. It just seems like I am "not there".

I do a lot of writing, speaking, communication, and this "fog" brings my abilities to comunicate well to an almost complete halt.

Is there any way to combat this?
 
I am not sure what approach you are using to diet, but with a ketogenic diet, consuming a little more fat (or just greater percentage) will often help alleviate some of the brain fog.

Do you experience this throughout the whole cutting cycle? More frequent meals might assure that you have some form of energy in your system and could combat the problem too imo.
 
Its definitly a result of low glucose levels.

People doing keto often get the brain fog the first week or two til their body really adjusts its fuel source to run more efficiently

Either go full keto let the adaption take place.
Or
Up the carbs a little bit (slowest digesting u can find) remove some fat to balance the cals.
Or
Upping protien and dropping fat could also work if you really don't want to up the carbs since protien and gluconate fairly easily to give u some brain glucose haha.

what is the brain fog like? how extreme is it? Is it enough to avoid beginning keto during a college finals week or is it just a slight odd feeling.
 
When I am dieting hard, I am very absent minded. I swear to god I feel dumb sometimes. The irritability sucks too. Then you're somewhere and you aren't eating a bunch of shit and peoplel say, "it sucks to be you" and you want to wash their fucking hair on your washboard abs. Something you have to get used to I guess.
