If anybody remembers pre-DSHEA days, there were few dietary supplements on the market, save multi-vitamins and Cod Liver Oil. After the passage of this act, the deregulated market has allowed for virtually any herb and nutriceutical to come for sale.

This act is another form of government desire to control the market under the guise of "protection" when in actuality it does nothing. The FDA regulates the pharmaceutical industry heavily and significantly more people are injured from prescribed medications than the unregulated health industry.
