As I've said before, their thinking is similar to the anti-gun people: They feel unless you're military or protective service (police, fire, etc), you have no business having a well-built "assault" body any more than a civilian should have an assault rifle or grenade launcher. The Asscroftian day may come that any civilian who tries to strengthen his body will ipso facto be guilty of engaging in training to be a terrorist.
The weaker you are, the less able you are able to defend yourself, and the more likely you'll beg for govt to "protect" you and the more willing you'll follow their rules to get that "protection." This is why gov't frowns on those brave folk who defend themselves, whether it's Bernhard Goetz on a NYC subway train, or as one of those mentioned in "The Armed Citizen" column in The American Rifleman/ The American Hunter magazines.
