I play in a Mens Adult Hockey league inthe evenings. We usually play from 9:00 to 10:30PM What would be the best kind of diet to eat before and after the games? I am 6'2" 225 and fairly lean at about 10-12%bf. I don't want to loose the hard earned muscle.
I don't think you need to eat anything special. I'd get in a high protein, mod carb meal at least an hour before game time. Maybe a low/no carb shake after.
Buddy, you'll need a little bit of carbs for sure after, if you playall out like I do, your body is beat after. Drink a small gatorade with some protein source and you'll be good to go.

I would eat carbs 50%carbs/30%protein/20% fat
about 300cal/per meal
2hrs before the even
then right before I would mix dextrose/protein/malto
and after I would do the same
