I'm 5'8 145 (18yrs old), 12-14% bf. My main goal is to get 9-10% bodyfat.
My main problem is I used to be a lot heavier..I was around 180 and probably 25+ percent body fat, I lifted on more of a bulking cycle or anything and that went even higher, but gained a lot of muscle and was able to slowly work that down over the last year. The fat is mainly concentrated throughout my stomach, my legs and arms are fairly tone now, however, I'd love to be able to see my abs for the first time. I can slightly see 4 of them, but that has been the case for the past few weeks.
I do cardio 4-6x a week (sometimes HIIT, sometimes 70%hr for 30 min) and lift 4x a week also.
I used the Harris Benedict Equation and got my bmr to be 1696 * 1.55 = 2628cal
One question I have is whether I should be eating calories 12x bodyweight or 500 off of the Harris benedict formula?
A typical day of dieting for me (today), while some days are not perfect due to school, would look like the following:
Meal 1: Protein pancakes (4egg whites,1whole egg, 1tsp vanilla, 1.5tbsp cinammon, 1/2cup oats)
workout followed by 30min of cardio
Meal 2: 6oz of chicken breast, 1/2 cup brown rice
Meal 3: 4oz chicken breast, can of green beans, 1oz cashews
Meal 4: 4oz chicken breast, 1oz cashews
Meal 5: 3oz approx of chicken breast, 1oz cashews
Meal 6(if hungry before bed/depending what time I wake up..): 1tbsp natty pb and 3-4 egg whites..
Macro breakdown is as follows via fitday:
Total: 1701
Fat: 54 485 29%
Sat: 12 109 6%
Poly: 10 89 5%
Mono: 27 242 14%
Carbs: 122 404 24%
Fiber: 21 0 0%
Protein: 196 784 47%
Alcohol: 1 10 1%
Once again I understand this diet is not flawless, but I kept in consideration that my youth could help with the occasional slip up.. (ie. south beach diet bar for a meal if im in school, etc). I normally do not have cheat days, except the occasional beers on the weekend, which as of lately I have been trying to avoid.
I also have been taking 200mg caffeine, 25mg ephedra hcl, 81mg aspirin 3x daily, with green tea extract 2caps 3x daily as well. Take a good multi vit and take a flax fish borage oil tab in the morning and at night also.
Any comments that could help me achieve my goals in a faster manner would be greatly appreciated
