Diet Cycle Strategy

In my quest for the perfect diet :) ....I came by this one. Has anyone tried something like this? What were your results?

The average per week is to be 3000 cals. So add up each day, divide by seven, and you'll have 3000 cals. With that said, here I go.

Day 1
1,900 cals 65% P, 25% C, 10% F

Day 2
2,400 cals 65% P, 20% C, 15% F

Day 3
3,000 cals 55% P, 35% C, 10% F

Day 4
3,200 cals 45% P, 40% C, 15% F

Day 5
4,200 cals 35% P, 50% C, 15% F

Day 6
3,700 cals 25% P, 65% C, 10% F

Day 7
2,600 cals 55% P, 35% C, 10% F

If you've tried anything like this, I'd like to know your results.

I have hypercaloric high-carb refeed days immediately followed by very low calorie days, then I diet for about a week. The day after my refeed, my metabolism is really high and I lose quite a bit of fat, as well as glycogen.

I have never done the type of cycling you specified.

Sheez! Jumping around 1000+ cals from one day to the next seems a little excessive. I have a hard time the first few days when I add 300 cals! What's the theory behind jumping so drastically? Where in the world did you learn about this???

i read that by cycling not only the caloric levels, but also the percentages of the protein, carbs and fat, that nutritionally one is depleting the muscle with glycogen and refilling it on a continuous cycle. it is claimed that one can expect an increase in lean muscle mass and a decrease in body fat. i got this from a book by bob paris. it looked interesting so i'm going to give it a shot. in a way it's like the abcde diet that b. philips suggests.

Ok, I gotta give my opinion. This is assuming you are trying to CUT.

For me the best way is to diet until my metabolism is about to decrease or has started to decrease. Then I eat high carbs, low fat medium protein for most of a day, and my glycogen and metabolism are replenished. I don't slowly increase my caloric intake, as this seems pointless to me. Why increase it gradually if you are trying to cut? Suddenly refilling your glycogen will waste less time and increase your metabolism sufficiently.

After the high-carb day, you can lower your calories very significantly because your leptin levels will supposedly protect your muscles and metabolism for a while. Read the articles by Par Deus about refeeds from http://www.avantlabs.com

If you are bulking with this diet, then disregard the above. I don't know if it would work for bulking because I have not tried it. I am pretty sure I would be miserable on it, though.
