From a personal stand point, I find alot of your ideas refreshingly in my face... your blunt nature is a great compared to the PC jokers who keep it to themselves.
I would imagine from a business standpoint on EF some of the titles of your posts that say "Fuck you Wodin" and the constant negativity in the "subject" of the post... might deter some people away from the site.
If this could be toned down on the subjects... I would love to see you back... I think you are good for this board. I think that if you talk to the powers that be you could come back... I'm not sure WHY you got banned if you were... but I'm no idiot (debatable) and I know how to add 2 + 2... controversy, negativity, and such... business environment of trying to sell... it just needs to be toned down. Warned, don't know. But you've been around since 2000 ... I think additional consideration should be made to the relativeness of the banning... IMHO.

Any problem I've EVER had with Plat, I've PM'd and it was fixed relatively quickly... granted, there are some flaws... but for the most part... I like Platinums gallary ... I can store AS many pics as I want there, and link them to friends on the web... it's like I have my own storage website for pics!

Well, my interpretation of George's post was that the new hardware would correct the performance issues, but nothing has been said about the other technical issues...like being able to have more than 100 PM's. I e-mailed EFChris about that one, and he told me to empty my Sent Items.
It's been so long since I bitched about it, I'll have to look up the other stuff again. I just accepted the fact that I was paying to support the site, not to get additional features, which is fine. However, don't promise me stuff I'm not going to get.

It has never been an issue of me having been unhappy with my membership. As I have said, I pay to support the site, and have no problem supporting the site. My issue comes from the fact that we were promised these features for becoming Platinum, the features did not work at rollout, and to this date, still do not work. We have NEVER been told, until this point, why there were issues and what the plan was to fix them. I have been a paying member for almost a year as I recall, and this is the first time that I've heard anything remotely resembling an explanation.
Furthermore, I've been one of the biggest proponents of the philosophy that free speech DOES NOT reign here and that George has the right to ban anyone he sees fit for whatever reason he sees fit, but to simply ban Code for pointing out the flaws even pushes me a little too far.
Code was a valuable, contributing member, and while I realize the focus of this site is to make money, it seems to me that if the focus is going to be to ban those members who vocalize their problems as opposed to fixing the problems...something is wrong.

I am starting to see why Elite has had a hard time finding people that want to help.
I gave the Project the karma as he is a paying member of this board that was not scared to voice his opinion. While I hope in the future he will do this direct to me and not on the open board, I still felt the need to give him what I could. He supports this site that a lot of you non paying members seem to complain about.

Elite is a great board, yet not unlike so many others. This board does not offer many more features than the other boards of its size and for that reason I do not feel obligated to pay for the membership services. The fact that the board runs as slow as it does and the recent bannings make many only think of going to one of the other boards that is comperable.
There seems to be alot of power tripping that goes on here, and for no reason. Just because someone makes comments about the board that are negative, does not mean that we will leave because of it. This board would do fine if the only thing the mods could do is prevent source posting. Yes, there is obviously other things that mods are useful for, but still, what has been occuring recently is BS.
Once it seems there is reason enough for having a platinum membership, I'm sure that more would be interested in it if the price remains resonable. Maybe you should consider setting a sticky for what the members would actually like to have for their platinums instead of just underused repetitive services that are avaliable elsewhere.
Just a few thoughts of mine to be taken as a grain of salt.

Sorry, but I was a platinum member for over a year and the rasons I gave it up were, some of the mods seem to be on a power trip and when you send an email to George to complain, you never got a responce.

People get banned, big f'n deal. This is a privately owned business operated to make a profit. You can damn well bet if somebody kept coming in to my store, or my house, and shitting in it, they would wear out there welcome quickly - especially if they were not a paying customer. Beyond that, who gives a shit. I haven't been around that long, but, I thought Puc was abrasive, original and generally very entertaining. And I can't really speak about Code, I'm not familiar enough with his online persona and postings. But besides that I really got to take a dump. Hope I don't miss anything important or another banning.

Check yourself and realize that most people are primarily selfish.
Trust yourself and stand by your own actions.
Form your own conclusions and know that they are still opinions without all the facts to back them up.

As far as non-plats, and whether or not their opinion matters...maybe if each non-plat were treated as a potential customer instead of a sub-standard class of people, maybe more people would be Platinum.

From my vantage point, high atop the catbird seat, it looks to me like there is a HELL of a lot of complaining going on... and not a whole hell of alot of DOING...
People don't get banned for no reason... I liked code and i liked puc...I felt they contributed in many ways... but it is outside my realm of control to do anything but btich and whine... and in my limited experience... that don't get nothin' done brothas and sistas!

I, too, am a former platinum member. I cancelled my membership for several reasons, including the Triple Threat fiasco, and the fact that promised features were not delivered. When requesting that my membership be cancelled, I clearly stated that I wanted it cancelled at the end of the (then) current billing cycle. It was cancelled immediately, but with no refund. I posted on the board about this, and it was copied to the mod forum for me. Nothing was ever done. On a strictly accounting basis, EF's credits and debits didn't match up on that one, and the balance sure as hell wasn't added to Goodwill.

Just my .02 on top of the thousand or so before me, but banning Puc was utter BS. I'm not sure if he violated the T.O.S. but if he has, there must be about 1,000 others who did too, including many moderators like that fraudulent pussy Fonz.

Banning is gay, no matter how you swing it. I personally think those members who started shit and posted off the wall stuff are great. There is a limit to it of course, but the line seems to be getting pushed farther and farther to the "be nice " spectrum.

bannings should be temporary.
Like the first time you're banned for a couple of days. Then for 5 days. Then for 2 weeks. Then for life.
It's not fair to just up and ban someone. I know they get warnings and stuff but banning is so permanent.....
Also there should be a sticky thread that only mods can post on with a list of all banned members and why, and maybe even links to the offending posts.
If someone did that i would go plat.

I could see a 24 hour suspension... you could do it much more often to individuals. Then stiff it up longer... and after like a 3-6 month period, the timeline resets... so your next violation would be 24 hours.
I think that SOME things should be absolute banning... or at least an automatic 2 week suspension with apologies made or what not.... Real life threats or board life threats or things along that line fall into this category.
Also, complete and utter banning for turning in bros... that shoudl be an exception... if anyone can think of others, that'd be cool...
