Did jh1 get a new car today?

I fucking went up there earlier to look and I got a little anxious cause I felt like I was in a shark tank...

Then my phone rang and I had to leave for a conference call, I was relieved.

I want to go back up there, like now, but I am still fucking waiting on the god-damn final disposition from the insurance company. Obviously I can't risk signing a new lease until I am cleared by the Ins. Co.

I still have looking to do, and waitin on the Ins. Co is a good excuse to avoid excess pressure. But it seems like it's possible it could all be a waste of time if the fucking Ins. Co comes back with some rediculous BS about repairing it...

God Dammit... shit is always so complicated.

all of the above.... plazamotors . com

they carry everything worth looking at... well... everything I am going to look at...

why contemplate? Don't get an infiniti!

Why not?

I have to go get lease quotes since MSRP doesn't mean that much, I need to know what risidual values will be after 39 months.

They seem to have the coolest technology packages of anyone, to be honest.

But I do like the looks of the BMW the best... :worried:

I may not be able to wait on the right BMW to show up though.... they don't seem to have good stock available...

I just don't like them.. that's why.. I guess if you do you should get one!

Infinities are great cars and a helluva lot cheaper than a BMW or Audi with the same trim. J, I know you're thinking AWD for rough weather, but the traction control + good tires on the Bimmer will work as well as AWD and will handle better than the AWD Bimmer in good conditions. My friend's M3 takes off so slowly with the gas pedal to the floor in slippery conditions, it's ridiculous. The thing does 0-60 in under 5 seconds, but the traction control is so good it won't let the tires spin.

It's better to have good tires and turn the traction control off, in slippery conditions. Some cars won't move at all in the ice with the electronic nanny turned on. And woe be unto you if the traction control can't be disabled, such as on a Mercedes. There's a great story over on www.thewindingroad.com where David E. Davis couldn't get his S-Class out of the driveway one day, the car was totally disabled by its aggressive traction control.

lol

That would suck. I was really surprised at how well it worked. i can't remember what kind of tires he had, but they were almost rally looking. The braking system on that car is sick too.

The problem is: Good Tires are subjective to the type of driving you desire.

Good Tires for snow are the same as 'Good Tires' for spanking the pavement...

That was my point. And I assume you meant "aren't"...? If you have a RWD performance car with "summer tires" you'll need a second set of winter tires if you live in an area with winter precipitation.

My VW has summer tires, Continental SportContact2 225/40 x 18. They look like the grooved F1 tires, almost no siping at all. I'm banking on global warming to deliver us another snow-free winter this year.

Yeah... oops. Aren't.

Caveless wonder suggested the RWD BMW and get a second set of tires.

Not this guy... not on a leased vehicle, etc... I just am not into doing that type of shit no more. Even looking past the residual value that I loose with those tires / rims when the lease is up - I have no way to haul around a complete set of tires when it comes time to change them.

Plus I am so lazy about stuff like that - I'd never have them changed. Then I'd end up wrecking the car. Or I'd be pissed that I had snow tires on when - like you said - we had an awesome winter.

Too much trouble for this bitch.

Mr. dB said:
Just get another A4.

Honestly, I really want the BMW simply cause the way it looks.

Not sure that's what I will end up with though... if they don't have one available in right color / options.... it's gonna be tough. I need a car yesterday.

I liked the infiniti today - in terms of the technology and the fact you get alot more power for the money than any of the competitors...

but, it's just not as pimp as the BMW....

Yeah...I'm slightly shallow...

It's a car... they sell on emotions, so I am not the only one.

Fuck off Jnevin, you sniveling little faggot.

Haul them around? Don't you have a garage?

I do, but I am not changing them shits.

So that means I gotta take them somewhere?

Fuck that noise.

So you're going to compromise performance for the 350 days a year when the roads aren't frozen, just to keep from having to change your tires twice a year? All-season M+S tires are sucky.

Until I can afford both a Ferrari for the awesome pavement bitch slapping days, and a AWD vehicle for the other days...

Yes... yes I am going to makes some comprimises...

Mr. dB said:
Then just get a Ford Escape and be done with it.

LOL.... so unless I buy a RWD drive car and buy two sets of tires... I might as well commit suicide?

Dang... you really are an angry old curmudgeon... aren't ya?

LMFAO!

how are the roads where you live? I was able to drive my car with almost no problems this winter in the snow. butttt they keep the roads spotless around here. however getting out of a parking space with any snow on the ground was a bitch!..my car has 18" very low profile tires...and RWD.

I used to have a RWD vehicle and drove it all season.

Never again, after having a modern AWD setup like in my audi. It changes everything.

I used to be scared driving in rain, etc with sport tires on sports cars...

that Audi was like a fucking snow cat - it was so sure footed, I loved it and unless I buy a pure performance car I'll always have an AWD setup now... I just loved it.

And I am not buying a pure performance car until I can afford to have both...

Have you ever drove a XI model BMW? I wonder how it compares? I have never been behind the wheel of a 4 wheel drive vehicle. but I may go for one next time around.

Lexus is nice, but has nothing to offer for people who actually like cars. They're a great, higher-quality alternative to an American luxury car like a Cadillac or Lincoln, but they're just too smooth and soft for an enthusiast.

i test drove the g35, the a4, and a couple of different 3 series....

SO the BMW wasn't anything special?

The looks of the BMW are what gets my dick hard, honestly...

Yeah, but if you're going for AWD the bimmer isn't shit compared to Audi. It isn't as good as Subaru either.

Lexus isn't a compromise, it's all the way in right field as far as the luxury vs. performance ratio goes. And they don't have a passenger car with AWD.

The is 250 and gs 300 do.

jnevin said:
sorry, gs 350

Gs350 is quite a bit more expensive car - and bigger.

Not sure I am interested. The next AWD down is the IS250 - which I don't dig. At all.

I really think the best value is prolly the Infiniti.... but I still want the BMW simply cause the way it looks.

I've got an off-the-wall suggestion. How about stepping DOWN to an Audi A3? You could get an A3 3.2 S-Line Quattro, and load it down with all the options, including the Open Sky sunroof, 18" wheel option, nav, leather, and still come in at an attractive price. With the same power train as the A4 in a slightly smaller and lighter platform, the A3 is pretty zippy, and they don't sell very well so you won't see mirror images of yourself coming and going every time you leave the house.

The GS 350 pretty well loaded is a little over $50K. That's not bad at all. The M or G series reasonably loaded are the same. The 335i is as well. And smaller.

Ford doesn't offer the Ka in the USA. The Focus is their smallest car here, we don't even get the Fiesta.

I know, I think it's an strategic mistake, look how many jh1s are on the loose over there?

That car would be a smash hit with the gaye community for sure

over here, I think they come standard (like the beetle with the flower in the dashboard) with a rainbow sticker on the back

So it's kind of like tantric abstinence.

funny you mentioned that, I spoke once to a guy who did that (or said he did). He couldn't keep his mouth shut about all these deities and all the funky crap and how men can achieve multiple (as in more than 10) orgasms without ejaculation and what not.

mind you, this conversation took place as we were ALL (my wife and 2 coworkers he barely knew) driving in a car for 3 hours straight. I was really concerned about this guy sanity. And his choice for light conversation

His wife was HOT as hell as well, which made it even more suspicious

Oh.

I got a call from an adjuster today, the car is a total loss.

SO I am cleared to get a new car, so tomorrow - that makes my day. But I have a flight to dallas in the evening.

One thing that could wrench this up is he mentioned I should get some voucher for sales taxes.. I need to research that tomorrow AM... I don't know if that applies to me or not.

So which is it to be, 3-series or Infiniteh G35? Both are great cars.

Prollly the Infiniti. I don't think they are gonna have the BMW in the color I want with the options I want - according to the online inventory of all 4 area BMW dealers.

German paint get my dick hard.

I've detailed black bimmers & VW that looked like a mirror. The darker grays are some of the most liquid colors I've seen.

Oh. I like black, white and a few other select colors as well - but they are a bitch to keep looking clean. Wheras grey covers up alot of dirt and crap until I can get it washed.

At the BMW dealership across the street from my gym, you drive by and it's like "where's the color???" Every car on the lot is either black, anthracite, graphite, pewter, silver, or white. Meh.

Yeah the guy @ plaza motors the other day said hardly anyone wants colorful cars in the upscale sedans anymore...

He said the only ones they take are special orders or if the manufacturer forces a color on them by piggy backing it on a larger order.

They don't want them.
