Did I mess up my first EBAY transaction?

I bought a wrist blood pressure monitor this morning with PayPal. I did`nt bid on it, I did the "buy it now" option. The seller has %99.+ rating with 3-4000 sales. First of all I realised that if I bid I would have gotten a much better price, I paid $57 and the winning bid on another one that was over in 15 minutes was $45. lol

Anyway, I emailed the seller and still have`nt received a response. I was under the impression they get back to you quickly by the "feedback" I`ve been reading. So did I have to wait for a rtesponse BEFORE I paid for the product? or did I do it right by paying THEN sending an E-mail?

You should be fine.

I do a fair amount of business on ebay, and 99% of the time I don't get a response from the seller until 24-48 hrs after the auction ends. It's somewhat irritating as a buyer because I want to conclude the transaction as quickly as possible, but it seems most sellers just aren't in that big of a rush.

On the other hand, when I sell something I get back to the buyer as soon as they send me their shipping info.

As a side note, some sellers have an automated response system set up via ebay that's supposed to email you as soon as the auction is over with their shipping info. However, I've had a LOT of emails from ebay show up late, or not at all! (I always instruct my buyers to email me directly after auction end instead of using ebays checkout system)

(BTW, I absolutely refuse to use or accept PayPal...heard way too many horror stories.)

Give it a day or 2 and see what happens.

Shit, I did`nt send that information yet. I thought they had that from when I purchase the merchandise. Also, I sent an E-Mail to the address on the EBAY webpage. All I put was "I just bought your blood Pressure Montor with buy it now/Paypal and my E-mail is ..."

Should I send another with my hme address? It shows it on the transaction page, I`m guessing only for the buyer not the seller. I ALWAYS figure out some way to fuck something up!!!

If you want a good deal and dont want to wait for an auction to end a good trick to use is to go to 'completed items' in the section you want and look for auctions that ended with no bids and offer the owner a deal on the item. You can get a good deal doing that too and you don't have to wait 4-5 days for an auction to end or to worry about bid sniping. I just bought a massager for $7 this way.

If you're unsure if you did things correctly, just go back to the auction you won and look for a link that says (something to the effect of) "request a total from the seller." Be sure to include your mailing address or whatever shipping info is pertinent and request theirs so you know where to send payment (if you're not using PayPal...ugh)

Explain to them that it's your 1st ebay auction and you're learning the ropes. Most sellers are pretty cool about it as they probably did the same thing when they were first starting out :)

HTH

thanks all. I`ll wait now that I know they have my address with the PayPal transaction.
