Did everyone BULK on their first cycle?

Just wondering. I'm not stickin myself just yet cuz I'm still researching and trying to time it well. But I was wondering if maybe there was a general consensus that one SHOULD bulk first? Maybe even some science about receptors or something?

I ask cuz I've been lifting and training and getting stronger for the last 4 years, but I've also gotten to be about as much of a lardass as I want to be, too. Thx for help.

Oh, in case anyone wonders, stats are 5'10", 220, about 14%.
 
It's generally easier to lose fat than to build muscle


Hence, lose some fat, and then bulk


IMO almost no point to doing a cutting cycle for a first cycle
 
i dont buy into that whole bulk then cut thing. at least not with my body type. maybe i'm fortunate to be an ecto. i just do lean mass gaining cycles, always keeping the bf down and just making quality gains.
 
nah no need for cutting as your first cycle, as long as you're under your genetical maximum you won't suffer substancial strengthlosses unless you don't know how to take care of diet/cardio properly! cutting clean when above your genmax is however a different story :(
 
My first was a cutter. Lost 22 lbs of fat using 250 mg Sust per week and 45 mg Winny per day. Cycle was 10 weeks.


If I had known then what I do now about diet, I would have held off on AAS until I had lost the bodyfat and then done a test/deca bulker.


The only cycles I do now are test/winny. Great for bulking or cutting!

im with you on that one bro, ectos have lean body types anyways. i cant eat 4000 calories a day and never put on any fat. crazy! im on this life long bulk.
 
I typically would only start a cycle when I had been working for awhile and I might be 8-10 pounds over my desired weight.

Each time I would basically continue to eat the way I did before cycle where I was maintaining my weight level. The only difference is probably added protein after workouts. At the end of each cycle I probaby added 8 pounds of muscle and lost 8 pounds of fat on average. This was running 600mg/week of deca or EQ for 10 weeks.


For me, this worked out perfect. I ended up with the waistline I wanted with a good amount of muscle gain. For me, having muscle and love handles are no benefit. If I had to chose between lean and just regular muscle or bigger with fat, I would rather just have the lean physique. But if I can be lean and bigger , I will take it. The cycle helped me do that.

I agree w/LV... bulking/cutting is more related to diet that gear in my opinion. Granted some AAS work well on a calorie restricted diet (such as Winstrol) but that has just added to thier "legend" of being used for "cutting"

these are some shots of me, you wanted my stats bro, i'm 5 7" and super small framed. most of these shots i'm only around 140lbs...

i'll throw in this last shot, it's hella gross, and the reason i dont do a typical "bulker" anymore. i was bloated and swollen, and just looked like shit.. this pic is one of the reasons i dont use test in my cycles anymore:

That was bloated and swollen?!!? Bro, I think you've got a skewed view of what you look like. You still look pretty lean in that pic :worried:

lean ? what would you put me at bf wise in that last pic ?? and i was all round and puffy looking it seemed like... compare it to my other pics and that's the kind of "lean" i try to maintain. like i say, i'm usually around 5% year round, though i've gotten higher since i started eating more/juicing...
right now i'm a skinny ass again, been off/out of gym for 5 months and back up to almost 7% (mostly cause of the muscle loss i think)
anyway sorry to hijack the original thread, but yeah i think i look way too soft and fat in that pic, not big enough for sure, but i like to be solid/hard/vascular not round/doughy looking
