Not the first time I've done them...but it's the first time I've done them with perfect form and I'm completely spent. That is the hardest and best all round exercise I've ever done....I'm sooooo jacked.

I remember trying deadlifts for weeks and weeks and could never get the form.

I'd done quite a few Romanian DL's but for some reason when I tried to do regular DL I'd try to squat it up (don't ask me why  )

Anyway I think I just stumbled into the proper form one day and I was mucho pleased with myself. Now I've recently switched to sumo style.

My bro who watched my form likes the sumo style....I used a closer stance and yes, the fleas in the hair on my ass are sore......I wonder if I have to do any other exercises.

I just read an article on what physique's favor which stance. I think the jist of it was:

long arms, short torso = conventional
short arms, long torso = sumo

Something about being able to keep the bar close to the hips.

I use sumo now but will go back to conventional eventually. I think I'm long arms long torso ;)

I used to do a lot of Romanian deadlifts so I think that helps me at lockout. It's getting it off the floor where I struggle :worried:

Yes I do use a belt. I have a cardillo belt which is 13mm thick. Make sure to stay away from the tapered bodbuilding style belts.

When you do a dead, inhale through your nose and fill up your stomach with air and push out against your belt to create greater intra-abdominal pressure to protect your back.

I mean, it's not bad but I don't feel it offers the support that a thick untapered one does. A belt's main function is to allow the stomach to expand out on it. This protects the back by taking pressure off it.

If I were to get a new belt I would probably get one like this.

Call it a personal preference on my part.
