I think that the most interesting thing about bodybuilding in Arnold's time and today is that in the early days a competitor's total bodyweight would increase before a contest (i.e. 220 and come in at 238 and much more ripped - from a long cycle of roids no doubt). If you doubt look at some of Arnolds pictures between compeitions - chest begins to look sunken etc... He didn't have the best genetics unless he was drugged.
Today everyone starts at 290 and comes down to 238. From people staying on all year and just changing drugs and dieting down.
