dht vs androgenic effect

sorry guys- slightly dumb question- but its something ive never understood
i dont understand how one can differentiate between dht and the androgenic effect of steroids. ie if a steroid is strongly androgenic, does that mean it converts to dht, which then has the androgenic effect.

ie can a steroid be very androgenic, without raising dht levels.
i am aware that certain steroids are derived from dht, though that doesnt really clarify things in my mind at all.
you see hairloss is a big concern for me, but since starting propecia i have bloated like a sponge, so i am looking for something to make me lean without killing my hair

cheers

The androgenic effects of steroids has more do with not having a double bond in the forth position caused by interacting with the 5alpha-reductase enzyme. This could be DHT, or any androgen without the double bond removed, such as androstanedione, androstanediol, androsterone ect. -- All metabolites of other androgens in the body.

Most all steroid hormones past DHEA are androgenic to some degree with enhanced androgenic properties maxing out after the 5a-reduction. Drostanolone (masteron) is derived from DHT, therefore it is already inherently more androgenic. A steroid such as boldenone which is derived from testosterone, (but slightly different) would be converted to a less androgenic substance than testosterone once it interacted with 5alpha-reductase… therefore making it less “androgenic” than testosterone.

Our hormone tree may help clear things up a bit - http://www.primordialperformance.com/hormone_tree.cfm

As far as something to lean you up… that’s tough without having to choose something a little androgenic. How are your estrogen levels anyway?. -PP

hey= thanks awesome response.

i like the lean look and i am trying to get cut. fin makes me ill so i am hoping to do an androgenic which doesnt cause hairloss as i am very susceptible.

can you comment on the following.
proviron
winny
tren
deca

keeping in mind i wanna drop about 15 pounds and have hairloss issues and im allergic to fin

Id say deca would be the least androgenic... but then again, I wouldnt suggest it for cutting down.

I assume your talking about finastride? Have you ever considered low dose progesterone? It can control DHT levels while not having the same side effects of finastride.

Dermacrine (our product) provides the progesterone support to limit excessive DHT conversion, but still support a fair DHT level to antagonize estrogen and keep bloat down and sex drive up. Dermacrine also is going to provide all the DHEA metabolites, which have a strong thermogenic fat burning effect.
